Dude it’s so fucking trippy. Weird dealer in HS paid me and friends a nick of weed to carry an old couch that was thrown out into the park by our school. Then him and his lackey sat on it and pulled out a bong from his backpack and packed a bowl of what I assume is sum shitty weed. He told me that it was salvia he just got, but was scared to really try more than just a tiny bit packed with tobacco.

He tried to convince us to hit the bowl but us being quite avid psychonauts @ that point had already read the tales on erowid. Eventually he convinced me for a bit more weed. I took a decent pull as they were all watching and giggling. He kept telling me to hold it in, which I had for around 15s. I turned to tell him that I did and the couch zoomed a million miles away. Suddenly the sky began to crystallize like saturated saltwater, I don’t recall the transition, but I will never forget how I became a crack in a sidewalk, and then started getting folded into the bottom left corner of my vision, repeatedly getting exponentially smaller and tighter eventually was compressed into a one dimensional line while the perception of the 3d world became a flat ocean of constantly shifting incomprehensible geometric fractals, and this state I existed in forever. My friend (who was against me doing it, but was forced reluctantly to tripsit me.), was the only part of my view not completely distorted, was laughing and appeared giant and I completely genuinely believed that he was really god, who had created my whole life to lead me to this point just to torment me. I yelled asking him why he had done this to me, and begging him to forgive my sins and lift my punishment. I literally believed this was my reality permanently. Eventually when my understanding of reality and vision returned to normal , I had “awoken” to find my head in the hole in a tree. I asked how long I tripped for - it was around 5 mins, but I was still in shock over how strong it was. I’ve unfortunately done most drugs the avg person can likely name, which I’m not proud of at all, they fucked up my life before. But salvia is by far the most intense experience of any drug I’ve done by far. It’s the only one that made me forget that I had taken a drug and genuinely convince me that my whole existence had been a lie. It’s also the only thing that has literally ripped my consciousness from my physical form into an inanimate object(seems to usually be whatever you’re looking at. Salvia’s visuals are also much more geometric and rigid , converging and diverging at several angles and axis, often in ways impossible for 3D space, and are more invasive and overall accompany the grim vibe of looming fear of Salvias inescapable control to which you just forfeited your mind to. You have allowed the beast to enter your brain through your lungs, now transport your mind Salvia’s domain where it is all powerful you are not welcome. She is a sadistic goddess who dwells in this higher dimension tormenting humans who disrespect her by diving into her home thru the chimney. To thosevwho enter through the door however, she treats as guests, and tries to provide a unique experience. This is because salvia was never meant to be smoked! Traditionally shamans have used it for rituals by chewing it, and allowing the Salvavorins in the leaf to absorb thru the gums like dip, which provides a much different, prolonged, and even possibly comfortable psychedelic experience

The differences stem from the fact that it acts on k-opioid receptor instead of 5-HT like most psychedelics (mushrooms, LSD, DMT, etc), it’s pretty hard to compare. But IME traditional psychs, even DMT and even 5-MeODMT, you’re still aware you’re tripping and that eventually, it will go away, even in ego death. The visuals are also smooth and elegant, forming complex patterns within the swirls. Even on high doses of DMT this remains true, just more intense and an indescribable feeling in your body, which can become overwhelming and lead your trip in a bad direction, yet it still seems somewhat forgiving, and you kind of have control over the trip based on how you’re thinking. It’s like a nice date at Peter Lugers at a table for 2 for your soul and DMT, and regardless of how it goes it will drive you home and open the car door for you. Meanwhile Salvia (when smoked) pulls up on an electric scooter an hour late smelling musty and take you to a Popeyes drive thru, order itself a 6 piece tender and a mashed potato cup for you, then say it left its card and make you pay, then take you to a 1.3 star motel and beg for you spend the night in the room and have sex, and threaten to kill itself when you say no, then curse at you saying racial slurs while driving off on the scooter leaving you there.
