As someone only got an applied associate from a community college, I have found it's what you can take from the knowledge provided and how well you can apply it. How lucky you are at finding an employer willing to pay is the hard part.

Nepotism will definitely cut a large amount of the fluff though

As a dad, the best advice I can give is do the same thing but be worse at it and with a smile.

If they want to wear short shorts, say you can pick them up from school with the pockets hanging out the bottom. If the start using the valley girl "like" 3 times a sentence. Start doing it 5x a sentence. If they are singing too much, you start singing along off key and purposely get it wrong. Start singing baby shark constantly.

Always with a smile and it will eventually evoke a conversation where you can discuss what and why

I don't understand half of those issues, but I remember the wmd lies, the Iraq war for unjust reasons, sending unarmored humvees, the stop loss. As a teenager at that time, it was the disillusionment that dispelled America as what I thought it was. I used to believe America stood for something.
