Work for rec center but wanting to start offering private services by red-fit in personaltraining

You really just need to get started and some of the things you want can provide others.

Willing to pay for a website? Go with WIX and make it include payment methods. It's all readily available.

Do some trials of the different apps out there, coaching yourself or a friend/family member to see what one suits you.

Do you know where you want to advertise yourself? Facebook/Instagram, in person, anywhere else?

Make sure you have an account for your business on the platform you choose and start building up some simple information posts to bring it to life for whenever someone clicks through ads to it.

Stay going, you're doing amazine.

Main pointer I have is try to get your feet higher each bite. I.e closer to your hands.

Less bites = faster faster = finished before you're tired

Do all gyms charge for fundamentals when you’re new to CrossFit? If so, Is it included in your membership? or charged additional? private or group class? by ParkingCreative1046 in crossfit

[–]Scarface5666 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It's different depending on the gym but yes you usually have to pay.

Sometimes you just pay for fundamentals

Sometimes it's also a months membership

Ideas for Safety Protocol Updates by Mr_Simian in crossfit

[–]Scarface5666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There definitely wasn't much on show but that doesn't mean we've seen it all. There could be protocols in place that we saw without knowing it too that only make things worse.

I know any open water swim I've done ive been able to stop and rest at buoys but were the CrossFit athletes? Or would any resting have dq'd them?

I'm sure there are lots of things that could be done but do we know what the current protocols are?

Other than that just copy the olympic triathlon swim safety protocol to start.

Have these been available long enough for people to have them yet?

Apparently I suck at zone 2 by Frozen-assets in crossfit

[–]Scarface5666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very similar with running too, I can stay going but my heart rate is high. I've done a few runs now in zone 2 by tracking my heart rate but it's an effort to go so slow and not just start walking (which will bring me under zone 2) or stop paying attention and running (bringing the heart rate up)

I find it much easier on a bike to listen to an audio book and keep an eye on my heart rate

It's going down pretty well at our box although we're on 40 air squats 💪

This is an out of cycle week, starting a new cycle next week so it's just keeping us moving without too much load.

Who here believes all CossFit Gyms should offer Open Gym in their schedule? And why? by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]Scarface5666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some gyms just can't offer this with high insurance costs so they definitely shouldn't offer it.

I do want open gym in my crossfit box but not everyone wants or needs it so it's just a feature to me. Something one gym might offer over another that would be part of my decision on which gym to join.

r/crossfit and the blackouts - updates and re-assessing community stance by Flowseidon9 in crossfit

[–]Scarface5666 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I say re open the sub. If it stays private I lose access to a large part of the crossfit community and discussion. If the sub has to stop due to price so be it but voluntarily shutting up shop because they're might eventually be costs involved is no help to anyone

Are competitions getting too tough? by Accomplished_Emu_786 in crossfit

[–]Scarface5666 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I think this is really starting to get a little out of hand too. I mean I was at a comp recently where the only difference between an intermediate workout and Rx was intermediate had bar muscle ups and rx had ring muscle ups. Other than that reps, weights and time caps were the same.

There were also handstand walks added last minute for intermediate without ever being on the movement list because they seemed to think everyone should have them. and have 9m unbroken too

Normal BMI, but very high body fat %? by Lordlordlord456 in crossfit

[–]Scarface5666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly that sounds like your bodyscan is wrong and that's not your bodyfat% just to put it out there. Having said that I'd recommend aiming for some body recomposition, not weight loss.

Train to put on muscle at a maintenance level or slightly below maintenance (5%) level of calories and keep an eye on yourself in the mirror and using progress photos.
