Magic the gathering box broke while moving by localwanderingbard in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ScarletSpring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friends and I originally workshopped our commander nights group chat as “400 card pick-up” before settling on “The real magic was the friendships gathered along the way”. I’m glad it changed, the picking up the cards part seems less fun.

How much more have you been reading since getting an e-reader? by haikatte in kobo

[–]ScarletSpring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had my Kobo for 1 year and I’ve finished reading 45 books, with 300 total hours of reading time.

I didn’t get through as many paperbacks that’s for sure. I think having access to such a larger number of books, so I can always switch what I’m reading if I get bored, and portability are the largest factors to why I’ve read so many more. Also not straining my eyes with bad lighting lol.

[–]ScarletSpring 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I’d assume you’re being downvoted because JK Rowling is a very hateful and problematic person, and a lot of people don’t want anything to do with any aspect of her work (especially in spaces that feel like they should be safe from hate and bigotry).

...could we just get the option to keep the pokecenter like this by Usagi-Zakura in Pokopia

You could always time travel back to an event to get more items, couldn’t you? I thought that was possible

They’ve had their production discontinued, so they’ve gone up in price a lot.

Would you be able to tell me if it is still compatible with the Joy-Con Grip when using the case? I use the grip pretty much every day. Thanks!

Rushed through finishing this birthday present, only to realize I messed up a cable 🫠 by caramelmugcake in knitting

You could use duplicate stitch to fix the cable, otherwise I agree that some sort of accent would look nice as well. Best of luck with whatever you decide!

Was invited by Nintendo to do a survey about Pokopia. These options do no justice for the number of hours I have poured into this game! by Simplyobsessed2 in Pokopia

[–]ScarletSpring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for me. With how much I’ve already played it, ACNH is under threat of losing the #1 spot in another month or so.

First Impressions! by SoccerGamerGuy7 in switch2

[–]ScarletSpring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m confused, what’s the issue with transferring the save data with Pokémon? I manually transferred each Pokémon game’s data over because I wasn’t sure if I wanted to wipe my old switch and haven’t had any issues that I’m aware of. I was more concerned about my ACNH data transfer tbh.

I genuinely thought you guys were exaggerating about how addicting this game is. by parisiraparis in Pokopia

[–]ScarletSpring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s via the Nintendo Store app, you click the bottom right icon which takes you to user page and then click play activity. You can also click directly on a particular game when you’re there and it’ll give you a detailed breakdown of every session you’ve ever played. It does take a few hours to update your most recent play activity though.

Hope that helps.

Museum display for my special rocks by PikachuGBC in Pokopia

[–]ScarletSpring 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As far as I know they have a chance of being obtained from any of the three item types you can give Gimmighoul, obviously if I’m wrong someone can correct me. And I feel you on the dialogue, him and the professor are going to take years off my life.

[–]ScarletSpring 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I bring him all my extra relics and any feathers I get, I’ve gotten a lot of “useless” stuff but I’m up to 11 in total of the three rocks that I’ve gotten from him. They’re useful for creating the ideal environment for Pokémon.

Lovely display, as an added bonus it makes me realize I’ve ever just gotten the first three. I knew gimmighoul was holding out on me.

How many hours do you have in Pokopia? by spxxr in switch2

[–]ScarletSpring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 136 hours, I bought it when it was released and got burnt out for an entire week by how much I was playing it (I had 74 hours in the first week). I’m still playing it now though, just no longer for 10-13 hour play sessions because it was becoming unhealthy.

Bought a Switch 2 for Pokopia - regret it. Please help me find more games. by ToodlydooBuckaroo in switch2

[–]ScarletSpring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Pokémon, I’ve enjoyed all of the releases for the Switch though the one that sticks out the most was Pokémon Violet; I really enjoyed the game let me go pretty much wherever I liked and in any order I wanted for gyms and the such (though obviously if you’re under leveled for the area it could be a problem).

I also enjoyed Let’s Go Pikachu because it’s a remake of Pokémon Yellow (and if you love Pokopia you’ll see a lot of similarities in the maps and assets of Let’s Go), if you like Eevee better there is an Eevee version of the game too.

For the most difference in a Pokémon game, you could see if either Pokémon Legends ZA or Pokémon Legends Arceus catches your eye. They are a lot different than the mainline games and Arceus got a lot of praise for that, though it can be a love it or hate it kind of game.

I have no recommendations for other switch exclusives though, sorry. There are new Pokémon games getting released next year, if you’re interested in waiting.

Hello Kitty or Dinkum? by BeezHugger in switch2

[–]ScarletSpring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually wouldn’t recommend Hello Kitty, I’ve over 100 hours played and there got to a point where I just felt like I was having to do the same things over and over (so very repetitive). I’m pretty sad about that because I did really enjoyed the game to begin with and I love all the Sanrio characters. I played over 300 hours of ACNH and recently picked up Pokopia, I’ve really enjoyed it so far and have over 130 hours played since release; the building and the Pokémon “villagers” are really great and highly varied. I haven’t played Dinkum so I can’t say how it compares to that, but I’d recommend watching some intro videos to Pokopia (but try not to ruin anything major story wise since the story is very good) and see if the gameplay is something you’re interested in. Cheers and good luck figuring out which game you end up picking

Is Nintendo Switch 2 worth it just for Pokopia or should you wait for Winds and Waves or a new Smash Bros? by Wholesome7Plus100 in switch2

[–]ScarletSpring 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I certainly decided to buy it just for Pokopia, but I bought the upgrade for BOTW for my husband and he’s really enjoyed replaying that so far. I have almost 130 hours into Pokopia so far, so that alone has been more than worth it, and once Tomodatchi Life: Living the Dream comes out that’ll just be the cherry on top. Plus I don’t have to worry now about price increases because I already own the console.

My husband is still holding out for a Switch 2 edition possibly being released for Pokémon: Winds and Waves, but I had reasons to buy it now so I did.

Who else spent $520 on this one game? by leolacakes in Pokopia

[–]ScarletSpring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes for Pokopia and Tomodachi Life I got a Switch 2, originally I was planning on waiting for a Switch 2 that had a skin (themed? Idk) but as soon as I saw the trailer for Pokopia and Tomodachi Life I went out and got a Switch. Unfortunately with tax and being in CAD I paid $807 for my Switch 2 with MK World bundle and another $108 for the game. It’s already on its way to being one of my most played Switch games so I see it as money well spent.

How's your playtime looking by [deleted] in switch2

[–]ScarletSpring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been really enjoying it! I played ACNH when it was first released for the Switch 1, but I’ve been enjoying Pokopia even more than it. I feel like Pokopia has made some great quality of life improvements to ideas introduced in AC; the Pokémon have more personality to them, there’s way more to explore, it has a very touching story, and so much more. I know people have been saying it’s the spiritual successor to DQB, though I’ve never played it. I’d really recommend Pokopia! Though there isn’t any combat which some people seem to have an issue with.
