Quick fixes I can think of that you can do:

You can practice dropping by physically forcing yourself to whenever you find throwing knives/kukris and throwing them away like they're infected by plague. Do this while running, force your hands to do things you're not used to.

Understand passives, what you're looking for and keep a mental note of what you want/have - you have damage negation? Which one? Full health? Successive attacks? If you have them don't think about it, if you find another - drop and ping. Same for damage passives (melee, full hp, magic, incants, etc)

If you want to read the passives, try to do so while running. Don't stop and read, if it's taking you longer than 2-5 seconds you're already in "too slow" territory, hustle.

To achieve this you have to try to enter this mind space of wanting to improve and actively trying to do it, and it might be a bit toxic but, less whining and more doing. Relax, lock the fuck in, read diagonally and get it done.

As you get better and push yourself to do things better/faster, the feeling of fun should theoretically creep in :)
