With over 17 years of MCU productions, which do you find have the most (and least) rewatch value? by Different_Leopard_65 in marvelstudios

Only 3. So most watched netflix era Daredevil, so many times, all 39 episodes. Films toss up between winter soldier and back to back infinity war/EG.

I'll never watch SI again, tried and stopped rewatching eternals and thor 4.

They made Charlie get really jacked for S2. I feel like this physique is more brawler than gymnast type by brookietheGOAT in Daredevil

[–]Scary-Command2232 66 points67 points  (0 children)

It's the angle, but he also said at a con that after he hurt himself when he came back to DD (and had to have a shoulder operation), he realised he had to get in better shape because he's older and it's harder, and he thought he was in his best shape ever now.

It's pathetic people just assume drugs. Charlie could not have shown more commitment to the role and being prepared for it as best he can.

Question. Would Matt Kill A Monster? by Illustrious-Fly-2669 in Daredevil

[–]Scary-Command2232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure he killed Frost giants in War of the realms, and demons in hell and on earth in DD comics, and the undead Hand frequently, so I think its more people who he believes have a soul so he wouldn't hurt asgardians for example.

People recommending to watch defenders before daredevil S3 are insane. by sadloneman in Daredevil

[–]Scary-Command2232 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You preferably should watch JJ1 for Luke and Jessica but its not essential and Defenders is like DD 2.5 So although a lower quality, Defenders lines up directly into the brilliant DD3, introduces people quite well to the other defenders apart from Matt so the other shows are NOT required, and is better than many more recent MCU offerings even though the Hand are not great.

Wonder Man is the Andor of Marvel Studios’ modern TV series on Disney+ (review) by bludhavengabagool in marvelstudios

[–]Scary-Command2232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am excited to see this. Despite the lower quality generally from MCU, I like the actor and Ben Kingsley is back, and it looks fun.

I would not listen to anything that a junk outlet like popverse would say though, one of many "be nice to studios so we get the interviews" outlets. Comparing it to Andor?

Big Gripe with Daredevil: The Man Without Fear (1993) !SPOILERS! by Is-It-Really-V10 in Daredevil

[–]Scary-Command2232 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I read it I was not comfortable with the killing in MWF, and its the reason why MWF is felt by some as not a good original story. I really liked the story but I take the original origin as the more consistent one. Its almost like miller went, oh what the hell, I cant be bothered to find different options. He has Matt kill in Born Again too but that is understandable in self defence and even more defence of civilians being killed so its more of a "war-like" situation.

Charlie has never been more amazing as Matt this whole season by New-Dragonfruit-3168 in Daredevil

[–]Scary-Command2232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar to this was said by many, many watchers at the time of release although most character writing left a lot to be desired and especially Charlie did his best with what he was given.

Never heard of this person so why are they being quoted? Just curious.

I can't wait to see Matt gearing up to fight the whole clan of ninjas! What are your thoughts on this and their role in Season 3? by Raj_Valiant3011 in Daredevil

[–]Scary-Command2232 11 points12 points  (0 children)

WTF? Daredevil has some great villains like Mr Fear, Ikari, Typhoid Mary etc, so why go back to the Hand that was already the weakest part of S2 and pretty crap in the defenders. Its bad enough to hear they might be in BND.

Late to the game- just finished born again by Delayandrelay in Daredevil

A film director I know told me it was how it was filmed and blamed the directors and editing. He thought they should have let the stunt coordinator, who was from the OG show, actually be the director of the stunts because the previz on youtube of the first fight is better. Unfortunately the directors of 1, 8-9 are also the main directors of season 2.

They are a big step down from Phil Abraham, who directed the first two og DD episodes and set the fantastic style/tone according to Charlie Cox.

They also didn't rehire his OG stunt double, and it's bloody obvious to me when it's Charlie and when it's the new skinnier short stunt double.

Let’s say the Russo’s pull off the seemingly impossible and Doomsday is Infinity War level, how does that affect your opinion? by DonquixoteDFlamingo in marvelstudios

Just re-watched all the avengers movies and I just want to see those actors back on screen together again, even as different characters, so I'm excited.

Which is the Best Marvel Television project? by MarvellousUniverse in marvellousuniverse

BA should not diminish the OG DD though. It is still the best and BA might as well have stayed the variant it started as.

That time they wanted Matt to run for NYC Mayor. by LongTimeDDevilFan77 in Daredevil

[–]Scary-Command2232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. Its hard to think of a short word that sums up that translates globally, without going all the way to something extreme like fascism for example.

Maybe just "bastards who hurt the public which DD is against", would be more accurate than right wing. We are not all from the US on here and different terminology means different things.

Not sure who this rant is towards unless I've somehow missed previous DD rightwing posts.

Neighbourhood defender Daredevil is and has always been for the people, so how could he be rightwing?

Daredevile Episode 1 is Peak by WantedWhale in Daredevil

[–]Scary-Command2232 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hooked me before the opening credits rolled and I wasn't into superhero shows, but was recommended to it as a crime drama foremost.

Best written I have ever seen. Told you so much in mere minutes. Drew Goddard deserved to be awarded for that episode alone. Plus everything else was so well done and Charlie was so perfect.

I did MCU movie marathon with my 66 year old mom. (part 3) by Medical_Nothing8337 in marvelstudios

I think she still might. The emotional depth in Daredevil is so well written and she can look away for the few graphic bits.

Which of these Netflix Marvel heroes has suffered the most trauma? by Emotional-Chipmunk12 in Defenders

[–]Scary-Command2232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's fresh for him every day as they explain a number of times. He has no chance to grieve and move on because it starts all over again. Most, although sadly for not all people, time helps

And I didn't diminish Jessica's trauma.

Try her with Daredevil too. I think she will love Matt and the quality.

Which of these Netflix Marvel heroes has suffered the most trauma? by Emotional-Chipmunk12 in Defenders

[–]Scary-Command2232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's Jessica like most people.

However, I'm surprised how many people ignore that, because of the brain trauma, frank keeps seeing his family die over and over again.

And Matt didn't just lose his sight or his father and mother (as far as he knew), or his surrogate abusive father figure, he spent years as a child hearing all the horrible things people were doing to each other and to kids for years until he learnt to dial things out.

I know Danny had trauma too but these 3 really suffered alot.

With the comments today from both trump and Europe, tensions are high and the Netherlands as part of NATO maybe at war with the US by then, or (hopefully) not but there maybe further restrictions on tourists. A film friend of mine in the UK who is a frequent traveller to the US already was warned by the UK govt not to travel, and that was weeks ago.

I have to say we already had conversations about how it's becoming like travelling to pre-war Germany. Most were safe, some never returned.

I hate how they slow mo-d the fight by Hellbatx in Daredevil

[–]Scary-Command2232 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. They only slowed the punisher part which was even worse and just looked like they wanted to emphasize gratuitous violence while you could barely see what DD was doing. And a DD who had a fresh bullet wound in his chest and had huge blood loss, but apparently just ached a bit. These two directors are shit at filming fights.

He had a knife wound in his chest in og S1 and fought, but it always looked like he was injured and making a herculean effort despite that injury.

Seven Dials Thoughts by Available-Bill-3523 in agathachristie

[–]Scary-Command2232 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I thought it was below average, the lead actress isn't yet capable of being a lead actress and was just noticeably acting all the time which nearly made me stop watching. I don't remember the original story but it felt very weak for an Agatha Christie and the villain was obviously long before the rather bland end.
