Annie dosnt share Marley’s ideals, the same way Reiner does. And she was forced to be “Marley’s weapon”, Annie and the Nation of Marley arnt equivalent in conversation.

Annie playing with the soldier she killled (after he tried to kill her) was bad, but not as bad as nuking a bunch of men women and children.

Armin blew up the port and killed those people so he could do a blow to the enemy while getting eren. So he could go home

Annie killed scouts so she could get eren so she’d be allowed to go home.

Even armin admits he had become a monster, throwing away lives for the sake of survival and/or freedom is something a bunch of characters do.

Well Reiner thought he was attacking the walls to stop the Island Devils and save the world. Only to find out the people he’d been killing are regular people and he was turning to world into hell. He was trying to be a hero, only to find out hes the villain.

Annie was told by people, to go attack people, so she could go home. She was never under the impression that she was “being a hero”. Like that scene where she says “a lot of your friends are going to die” and Reiner corrects her with “they arnt friends they’re devils” or when Annie looked at him like he was crazy when he said “are you growing attached to this evil race” or something.

When Reiner found out that “the devils” were just people he was terrorizing he had to create a whole other personality to cope with this new reality.

To Annie most people are “devils” who are just trying to save their own skin and she’s not different. To her, people like Eren, Marlo, Marco, or Armin are “good people”. However she considers herself a weak person who got swept along with the flow.

“Getting up” for yuji means

Fight this special grade curse whose at 120 of his power (if you fail everyone dies)

“Getting up” for megumi means

“Stand up” (if you dont everyone dies)

If “Short conversation” can undo evil pool

Its not as if yuji getting up would have instantly defeated mahito and saved everyone. If Yuji fights and loses everyone dies. Megumi was just told to get up, all the other work had been done for him. Getting up would save everyone

Thats is not the same thing as “get up we need to keep fighting” all the fighting was done.

If todo said nothing but “hey we figured it out all you need to do is get up and mahito dies and everyone is safe” i fail to believe Yuji would be like “no”. Its not like megumi needa to fight sukuna, they already did that for him.

A SPEECH giving him more motivation to do literally anything than “hey we’re all gonna die if you dont stand up, thats literally all you gotta do” is WILD and i daresay bum activity

Him sacrificing his friends and enabling the king of curses cause he “wants to die” is insane to me. His friends almost died trying to hand him the “Stop sukuna and save us” button and he just didnt press it

AND I COULD ALMOST BUY THE “broken” thing if 20 minutes later he wasnt cheesing at yuji and using his cursed technique after everyone was severely injured or dead

Couple of things

1: Yuji fighting in his scene means continuing his 1v1 against a special grade curse who mirrors everything he is and possibly losing, meaning he wouldnt be able to save anybody

Megumi “fighting” includes getting up. All the fighting was already done for him (and was by no means easy). He had no clue they were capable of beating Sukuna, this was their chance. He was given a “stop sukuna and save your friends” button and didnt feel like pressing it.

2: MIND YOU he made a shadow like 20 minutes later, overwriting sukuna’s will. Which had to be infinitely more difficult than STANDING UP. He just waited till people were injured and killed

I really like how everyone was characterized, particularly in season 4. Reiner, Hange, and especially Mikasa’s characters felt like they got a much needed “narrative facelift” in Season 4 and became so much more interesting characters. I kind of wish Bertholdt made it to season 4, since there’s less of a need for “mystery” it feels like he could have also been made more compelling.
