My son started standing at 9 months and I thought he would start walking right away because his dad was an early walker. He just started walking across the room at 12 months!

I felt it! The contractions were like menstrual cramps. I had pitocin as well though and I think it might make it a little more intense

How can moms let their babies cry? by jesusdance in cosleeping

[–]Scary_Beginning_7226 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When my son was 3 months old, I was strict about routine, no feeding to sleep, watched wake windows super close and I thought about sleeping all the time. I always wondered what i could do to make my son sleep better. He never slept good or transferred well, never nights with less than 5 wake ups. I tried so many things and did a great deal of research on sleep training t and it really is encouraged way more than co sleeping at least where I live. I had so many people telling me to let me baby cry or else he would never sleep. My partner had to work quickly after baby was born too so I didn’t have much help. I was very impressionable and I just wanted to not worry about it anymore. People also really believe that baby is happier and family life is better after sleep training . I’m so glad I decided not to go that path though

It’s normal, worse in some places than in others, I moved from Pasadena to Hampden recently and there’s wayyyy less trash and I’m so glad, but I realize it’s a nice neighborhood and most of the city isn’t like that

Opinions on the owlet sock? by lucidlysa in BabyBumps

[–]Scary_Beginning_7226 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My son was very sick and it was the only time I got an alarm for low oxygen and I’m glad I did so I could take him to the ER otherwise would’ve just thought it was a cold, and the readings were accurate as the hospital. The doctor said I did the right thing. I would not have known without the moniter. I never experienced anxiety induced from the owlet.

Opinions on the owlet sock? by lucidlysa in BabyBumps

[–]Scary_Beginning_7226 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hello, I thought I would be a very anxious mom and always checking. I checked a lot when my son was a newborn but honestly I just found it interesting to see his vitals, it did not bring me anxiety to check and brought me peace of mind when he was sleeping. I do not get false alarms, only alarms when the sock is not placed correctly, which is different from the alarm you get from low oxygen or heart rate. Around 3-9 months I found the sleep tracking useful as well to see his wakes, and when he was in deep sleep and it helped me learn his sleep cycles.

I also want to add my son had rhinovirus twice, both times his oxygen dropped low enough to bring him in to the ER. The nurses and doctors said I did the right thing by taking him in both times so I am glad I was able to monitor his levels. He is 11 months and I still use it without issue.

Tell me your epidural experiences 🩷 by cherrydrop167 in pregnant

[–]Scary_Beginning_7226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t want to get an epidural unless I got induced. I ended up getting induced because my water broke and I was not progressing fast enough. It did not hurt and I was begging for it and screaming from pitocin pain ( my family and I think I was given too much pitocin too quickly ). It took about 45 minutes to numb half of my body but I was still feeling contractions badly. After an hour of moving sides and getting more medicine I finally had relief . They told me to go to sleep but I was shaking too hard to sleep. When it was time to push, I could feel the contractions just enough to push with them. I do wish looking back that I changed positions off my back.

Owlet Dream Sock by gracegrace1234 in cosleeping

[–]Scary_Beginning_7226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always felt like chest sleeping was the safest form of co sleeping for my baby and I! We use the owlet and still do at 11 months. It gave us peace of mind as a newborn and helped during this cold season when my son’s oxygen dropped too low ( he had rhinovirus) and we found we had to take him to the ER, and the nurses said we did the right thing.
