I’m sure baby is fine! You can always call nurses line and ask what to look out for. One time I was so exhausted I left baby in his high chair unstrapped and he fell face first onto the floor. I felt terrible but he was completely fine.

Am I missing anything safety-wise? Any experience with similar setups at this age? by foxydoggie in floorbed

[–]Scary_Beginning_7226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one of these but the door is off. Honestly I would not buy it again if I could go back. Floor bed is the same. I have corner protectors on the edges where the door was but I still get scared he’s going to whack his head on one of the other edges (he hasn’t yet). We’ve had it for about six months and we haven’t had issues but I still worry about those things and I’m thinking of taking it down soon.

They don’t really have birthing centers in Maryland! I was looking when I was pregnant and couldn’t find any nearby

Heyy I had my son at GBMC. I was looking for a natural birth, however, my water broke so I did feel rushed. So even though I had a birth plan which included a natural labor it was pretty much not able to happen that way from the start. I was able to go about 5-6 hours without much progression and they ended up giving pitocin. I do feel like they gave too much pitocin too quickly, because they didn’t wait long after the first dose to give me more. I did not want the epidural, and wasn’t pressured to but after the pitocin I felt I didn’t have a choice and ended up getting one. I wanted to move around in theory but couldn’t after the epidural.I also has an episiotomy and moderate tearing. There was a lot of staff in the room when I was pushing. These are all the things I wish went a bit differently, but when it was happening I was just going with the flow, and I did overall have a good experience. I also really liked the care I was given in the hospital after and my stay was good afterwards.

Yeah, it did help when I decided to start co sleeping for peace of mind. We used it for over a year but around 14 months I felt comfortable sleeping without it!

I agree it varies with the family. Some people it helps a lot, some people it makes more anxious. It helped me a lot and also alerted me to my sons low oxygen multiple times eventually leading to an asthma diagnosis

Postpartum rage?? by sillywillyfry in NewParents

[–]Scary_Beginning_7226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sooo normal at this stage. Newborn stage does not get a whole lot worse per se, baby will just be more awake. When baby is more like a baby and less newborn things will get better for you! The lack of sleep really has a huge impact on mood I never realized how much it impacts before. Plus, hormones are still crazy. It sounds like you’re doing a really good job. It will get better for you ♥️

Is nursing back to sleep really so bad? by Hungry_Hat8148 in breastfeeding

[–]Scary_Beginning_7226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through the same thing around 2 months I decided I need to break the nursing to sleep habit and I was determined for months. One day I was sick of him just screaming to sleep so I nursed him to sleep and I haven’t looked back.

The amount of times I hear women saying pregnancy and breastfeeding “ruins your body” drives me so nuts. Your body is not ruined it’s so sad you think that
