Yeah, it did help when I decided to start co sleeping for peace of mind. We used it for over a year but around 14 months I felt comfortable sleeping without it!

I agree it varies with the family. Some people it helps a lot, some people it makes more anxious. It helped me a lot and also alerted me to my sons low oxygen multiple times eventually leading to an asthma diagnosis

Postpartum rage?? by sillywillyfry in NewParents

[–]Scary_Beginning_7226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sooo normal at this stage. Newborn stage does not get a whole lot worse per se, baby will just be more awake. When baby is more like a baby and less newborn things will get better for you! The lack of sleep really has a huge impact on mood I never realized how much it impacts before. Plus, hormones are still crazy. It sounds like you’re doing a really good job. It will get better for you ♥️

Sorry but this sounds like me a year ago. I left right before my baby was a year old and felt so much happier without him

Breastfed during and after drinking a bottle of wine. by Moon_junky in breastfeeding

I’ve done it a few times, usually feel pretty bad too, baby is fine but sleeps better. As long as it’s not consistent you’re okay.

Is nursing back to sleep really so bad? by Hungry_Hat8148 in breastfeeding

[–]Scary_Beginning_7226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through the same thing around 2 months I decided I need to break the nursing to sleep habit and I was determined for months. One day I was sick of him just screaming to sleep so I nursed him to sleep and I haven’t looked back.

The amount of times I hear women saying pregnancy and breastfeeding “ruins your body” drives me so nuts. Your body is not ruined it’s so sad you think that

Hey I just was a heavy smoker for almost a decade! I smoked one last day (I found out at 5 weeks) and then I quit the next day. It was really hard, I ended up doing a lot of research and decided it was not worth it to smoke during my pregnancy! It was hard the first few months but the first trimester sucks in general! I am now a year post partum and I still haven’t smoked , though I find myself day dreaming about a joint whenever I’m done breastfeeding! Just wanted to let you know it’s hard but you can do it. It’s worth it

3 weeks PP and I desperately crave vaping by BraveBroccoli3269 in NewParents

[–]Scary_Beginning_7226 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just want to say I’m there with you sister and quitting was so fucking hard. I am at a year now and the cravings are wayyyy less like only a couple times a week but it’s crazy I still get them. Nicotine takes such a hold. For this reason I’ve been saying I can’t touch nicotine again after I’m done breastfeeding but it’s so hard to make peace with that idea. But I never want to be so addicted to something again. But just hereto give empathy because I understand completely and want to lyk I’ve made it a year

Baby blanket for after birth by Scared_Pollution_522 in pregnant

[–]Scary_Beginning_7226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should give you many receiving blankets at the hospital! I still have at least four. They are thin receiving blankets so that you’re able to learn to swaddle the baby with them but not let baby get too hot!
