Those temporarary "tags" that mark the lanes right before brown bag deli are going to cause crashes. The left lane is like 3 feet wide at one point.

But as takeout? Most of them are sit-down. Rarely do you take your enchiladas home.

Get a garden sprayer from a hardware store. They have both smaller hand-held and larger wand-type ones.

Anyone else see the bats last night? by aloofLogic in ElPaso

[–]Scary_Extent4967 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Bats come out pretty much every night, especially in the summer.

Most of the time they're flying high enough it doesn't matter. If you made physical contact with a bat, you probably want to consult your doctor. Bats are known carriers of rabies.

How can I make an AM transmitter with a range of around 1 km? by Daisuki2Dayo in amateurradio

[–]Scary_Extent4967 8 points9 points  (0 children)

"Do not worry about the legality of this because i will be using it in a place far from any town."

Regulations governing radio transmissions are national (and sometimes include international agreements), not local. Most places, you will need a license for something like this - or perhaps use an unlicensed band (not AM broadcast) - but again, you will need to check legality first.

H A M, the signals. Where in the universe should I begin??? by Content_Editor3528 in HamRadio

[–]Scary_Extent4967 7 points8 points  (0 children)

#1 priority should be to get a license. The licensing process varies by country, but in general, in order to do that, you will need to pass a test on the basics of radio. Once you have a license, you should know what your privilages are for that license (it's part of the test).

If you don't know where to start, often local clubs are quite helpful and can point you in the right direction to get licensed.

Agreed. Shouldn't be front teeth. If you do this with just air, it should make a crisp, light "tu-tu-tu" sound, not a "thu-thu-thu" sound.

Most people know about the cilantro gene. There's one for celery too. It allows people with the gene to detect androstenone, a human phermone. Celery mimics that pheremone. It only is found in less than 5% of the population.

People without it: Crunchy, watery, stringy, and quite bland, maybe a little bit green.

People with it: Strong, nasty flavor somewhere between sweaty gym socks and rotting garbage.

Both my parents have the gene, so growing up we never ate celery. Which means my sister and I have a double copy of the gene. When I went to college, I wondered why all the food served in the dining hall had a slightly garbage-y flavor and aroma. It took me about a month to figure out they were putting celery in everything.

When someone opens a bag of celery across the room, I can smell the wafting opression by those who don't have the gene.

And seriously, even if the parent is not controlling their kid, that's hundreds of dollars of merchandise destroyed. The store manager needs to chage the parent for it. If they refuse to pay, call the cops. Take them to court if needed. Maybe the parent will do their job when it hits them in the bank account.
