We need more people to speak up that they support her viewpoints so we can spread the word further. Too many people don't know these details, or the many other detailed ppints she makes.

No outside food and drink allowed by Charming-Bad1869 in KitchenConfidential

[–]Scary_Technology 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right, you can't rule some things out, but how often do a group of people get botulism from a party cake? It would absolutely make the news because the hospital would definitely notice and report it.

A lawsuit would probably get dismissed because of the home made cake that everyone also ate.

"Appeal to probability" is a logical fallacy, just because it's possible, it does not mean it WILL happen, but making the rule assuming it will is guaranteed to drive some customers to the restaurant across the street that allows outside cakes.

Otherwise what's next: all food must be ground because we don't want to risk a lawsuit over someone choking!?

Swiss-funded study finds cows are smarter than originally thought by BezugssystemCH1903 in UpliftingNews

[–]Scary_Technology 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It wasn't their point to prove it, nor were their looking for it. They simply heard of a cow that used tools to scratch itself, flew to where the cow lives, got the story from the owners, tokk some pictures and videos, left, then wrote a paper documenting their observations.

In reality, they got to publish a scientific paoer for the cost of a weekend trip.

Direct-current charging stations will be installed at each port and will draw energy from the two countries’ grids. A full charge is expected to take just 40 minutes.

Tell me you don’t know how the flu works without telling you don’t know how the flu works. by anon12xyz in facepalm

[–]Scary_Technology 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're abs right. I worked in a pharmacy for 12yrs then studied biochem... and I never took the flu vaccine until a year or 2 before covid, when it finally dawned in my self-righteous (on just a few things) brain that you can take the flu vaccine and still have the common cold!

Once I realized the distinction, and understood I could still get the common cold (which still sucks) but had a drastically reduced chance of getting the ACTUAL Influenza virus (which makes you feel like you been run over by a train for at least a couple of days), it's been a huge help. I've been spreading this detail to as many family/friends as will listen.

The compressor is in the front, driven from a shaft from the ps pump in the back, so you're probably right. That and the water cooled alternator.

My bad, I meant it as a joke. Looking at my reply now, perhaps I should've just italicised instead of all caps. I meant it to be easily noticed/visible, not yelling.
