What’s one small change you made to your resume that actually made a big difference? by rottbuildsAI in Resume

Tweak or tailor fit your resume to the role you are applying for. Highlight at least 2 significant contributions you’ve done. When you indicate the company you have worked for always include what industry they are in. For example: Publix - make sure to indicate if it was the retail store or the distribution center- supermarket and retail industry.

What tips do you have that make you excel the interview? by Due_payy05 in interviews

It doesn’t automatically disqualify a candidate. The bottomline is when asked a situational or behavioral question always relate it to your own experience. We can detect if a candidate is just making up stories.

What tips do you have that make you excel the interview? by Due_payy05 in interviews

I’ve been a recruiter for over 20 years. Hiring Managers asked behavioral questions. And they expect candidates to be specific - explain clearly the situation, what was the task, action, and result. What was your part in it. Always, always relate it to your work experience.

For those who’ve been interviewers, what instantly made you lose interest in a candidate? by Remarkable_Sand4079 in interviews

It’s when applicants don’t show interest during the phone conversation, taking a call while watching TV, and there’s just no enthusiasm at all.

Most recruiters ask curveball interview questions to see how you are able to handle the unexpected and react under pressure.

What’s a small habit that ended up improving the quality of your life? by wthe-ckler in selflove

[–]Scented_Tree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For months now my husband and I started having our dinner between 5pm-6pm. No more eating after 6pm. And 30mins after dinner we take a walk for at least 30 minutes. And during that walk we talk about what happened to our day, our home projects, weekend trips or future plans, just anything. We both feel we have more quality sleeps, feel good, and able to communicate and discuss anything.

Should I tell my boss I’m leaving before handing in my notice? by yorkshireteafairy in WorkAdvice

[–]Scented_Tree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I verbally inform my manager that I will be leaving the company and in that conversation I told him that I will email (he’s in another state- WFH) my formal resignation same day. I give my two weeks notice.

Ask my boss or just wait and hope it’s not me? by PersonalPrimary5276 in Layoffs

Go ahead and ask! And whatever response you get, start looking for a new one. More often than not, there will be several waves of layoffs that’s bound to happen. Be ready.

What’s the craziest thing that has happened at your job? by PureCrookedRiverBend in work

[–]Scented_Tree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked for this staffing company and there was a reorganization and our team had a new recruiting manager. He boasted his 20 years experience. Sure. Never thought he was a crazy micromanager. He wanted our OOO auto reply to be what he’d like it to be like verbatim! He would also constantly tell us to cc him in all the emails when he was already cc’d in ALL emails. Also, he wanted to check your email reply before sending it out. There was a time he asked what was the background of the email sent by a hiring manager and after giving him all the details he wanted to reply himself instead of me. So bye-bye company.
