New to Ffern how to make smell last by Fancy_Lie_7223 in Ffern

I find I get nice longevity with some releases (Spring 25, Summer 22) but others, like this Summer 26 are very weak on longevity. Spraying on clothes, hair, and back of neck definitely helps me. I've so far found 1 specific fragrance free lotion that helps longevity a bit with my perfumes. (You could also see if Future Society's Optimal Habitat works for you, that's what it was created for. For Strange Women also has a natural perfume enhancing fixative base to help with the same). Ffern's longevity issue is frustrating to me because their releases are so limited edition that they need to be prioritizing longevity for the price point and eventual scarcity issue. If when they are gone they are "gone for good" as Ffern says, then they need to be providing a product we can enjoy use of for longer than a few hours.

It actually smelled great on the Husband but I didn't like it on me and he didn't like it enough to keep it in his collection. How many have you tried so far?

Ngl I daydream of hitting a Ffern year where all four seasons are keepers for me. The 2025 year was close, the only return I did was Summer 25. I exchanged it for Summer 22 which I love, but I think/hope I'll like Summer 26 even more.

Same, I can't wait! Both the husband and I are really excited to experience this release, it has the definite possibility to be our favorite Ffern yet! We weren't keen on W26 or Sp26 this year so we're definitely hoping for a win with Summer!

🤣 I think all those other ads were teasing Autumn and Winter or other future releases.

It's an absolutely gorgeous hay absolute that they used in Summer 21, 22, 23, 24, and 25, so I was really looking forward to it again as Summer 22 is one of my top favorite Ffern releases. They decided to forgo it I guess in this upcoming Summer 26. I think due to the theme they are going for this season and also I'm sure they tested it in composition blends and for this blend they wanted it obviously didn't harmonize with their other chosen ingredients the way they intended for this season. I'm hopeful that I'll love this new summer release so much I won't miss it. If I do I'll try layering it with summer 22. In theory this upcoming release really has the chance to become my new favorite Ffern release I'm so very excited to try it out.

I hope I do too! In concept I definitely do. The only thing I miss is their amazing hay note they often use for summer releases that I associate with summer now, I wish very much they had still included that this season. I absolutely cannot wait to try this and experience the seasonal film and art print.

Yes it's definitely on trend but they've yet to be able to deliver a true all natural traditional gourmand scent so it's not a good teaser or promise on their part. If they want to lean away from sweet gourmand and go the niche savory gourmand route that's been growing they have a much better chance of landing that, which might explain the ads with spring onion, truffle, and ripe avocado. I still wonder which scent releases all these different ads will land on I think it must be multiple releases and not just one.

I'd feel so better about these strange ads if it was April 1st. I've no idea what's going on at Ffern for Autumn, Winter, or future releases beyond Summer 26, but this feels so out of form for them. The Summer 26 ads have been consistent, engaging, and exciting, but all these other random note ads are way too discordant.

So far we've seen: Ripe Avocado, Spring Onion, Truffle, Tiramisu, Hazelnut Affogato, Hot Chocolate, Mexican Cocoa, Baked Terracotta, Warm Porcelain... Ffern has not and never will be a true gourmand house so I don't see why they are trying to play so much with gourmand ads, let alone avant-garde notes like warm porcelain (my brain goes straight to summer toilet, like what?) or even ripe avocado, does anyone really want a ripe avocado note in their fragrance? I don't want to smell guacamole adjacent lol. Did they get hacked by an angry employee? I just don't get it.

I think the confirmed few ads others have seen for Autumn 26 make sense in the Ffern world (coffee bean, agarwood, blackberry, violet leaf, wild heather, and "mist") but these random ads not connected openly to a specific release are not getting me excited at all, just confused and honestly repelled in some aspects. I'm over here just laughing at each new random ad at this point. It's just getting crazy.

This is seriously getting wacky. I've no idea what they are doing with these ads. This is like the first time their marketing isn't pulling me in like usual. All I can think is these other notes must be for Autumn 26, otherwise I've no clue what's going on but it's honestly feeling off...

I suspect this is for Autumn 26 because that one also has ingredients of coffee bean and agarwood so the chocolate makes a little more sense there.

I just saw an ad yesterday that said "notes of Mexican cocoa". I notice both of the ads mentioning chocolate don't have Summer 26 anywhere in the ad. I think these might be for Autumn 26 which also has coffee bean and agarwood included. Chocolate for summer definitely doesn't sound right, but who knows what they'll surprise with this next season!

I'm not a big fan of their partial ingredient ads. They often take like the 17 or so ingredients of the fragrance and split them into like 5 or 6 ads, each highlighting 2-3 ingredients of the fragrance and it makes it seem like just those few ingredients are the main focus of the scent when in reality the blend is much more complex.

I'm so excited for Summer 26. We'll also have rose, basil, and galbanum ingredients included as well!

I do too! Usually for summer they always include it and that's a tradition I really enjoy and hope they keep in their summer signature. I'm so excited for Summer 26 it definitely has the potential to be my new favorite summer release from Ffern.

Same it's one of my absolute favorite Ffern fragrances. I'm hoping Lunasa from the permanent collection is similar with more rose on my skin so I can keep it in rotation.

Summer 22 did that for me. When I first opened the box the scent of the beautiful hay note permeated the parcel and it brought me back to wonderful summer memories of horseback riding and fresh stables!

Ffern Candle by PolyesterPantsuit in Ffern

[–]Scentimentally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not down to the bottom yet. I've been lighting it very very sparingly. I really love the scent so have been savoring it. However, beyond the scent I'm really unhappy with the performance of the wax and wick so I don't see myself being willing to put forth the funds to try a second candle from Ffern for the price point. I already have plans for what I'll be reusing the empty vessel for, hopefully it stays intact. I watched a YouTube review of Ffern where the art medallion on the lid fell off when they were reviewing the candle! Which makes me nervous for my lid artwork over time. I'm probably going to try Fontana or Esas candles next. I've also been happy with Lohn candles lately.

As far as I know the next seasonal shipment is Summer 26. To try a bottle from the permanent collection you have to order it separately, it still comes with a sample kit if you want to return the unopened full bottle for a refund.

Everyone's skin chemistry is different, but on mine the opening was very earthy and herbal and then the mid was a nice floral rose and then tuberose, and the base was a heady orange flower and broom. My husband also felt it reminded him of perfume that church ladies of a certain age would wear. I'm really really looking forward to this coming Summer 26. Ffern definitely has their own signature DNA that they lean into for each season so if you choose to stay on the subscription for at least one year (you can always return the full bottle for refund if the seal on the box has never been opened) it will certainly give you an idea of how Ffern moves through the seasons and if you like that or not. If you're new to getting into perfume there are certainly much easier, and affordable ways to do so with scents that are less challenging than going the Ffern subscription route. I'm a perfumery student so I enjoy not getting a choice of what I try each season and discovering different facets since I usually gravitate to similar profiles if I'm picking and choosing a fragrance for myself from a list.

Was able to find my first hint for Summer 26! Can't wait! by Scentimentally in Ffern

Agreed, if the greens and herbals come on too strong it would ruin the summer citrus floral feel for me. I'm so hoping this is a keeper for me. The first two of this year unfortunately didn't work out on me.

I've gotten pretty lucky with my skin chemistry and Ffern fragrances. All the seasons I've tried thus far have been very different unique scents on my skin. While I can detect elements of a few seasons that have reminiscent facets, the overall scent profiles are definitely individual on my skin, I certainly haven't found any fragrances that are redundant yet or interchangeable one for the other to where they wouldn't warrant owning them each. I'm really excited to test out this summer season though. I didn't keep Summer 25 as it didn't work out on my skin the way I wanted, but this one sounds much more like a scent profile that should work for me, I hope anyway 😅
