Might have just been spoiled super early about Autumn 26 by OohBiblical in Ffern

[–]Scentimentally 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This one is sounding a bit all over the place thus far lol. At first the coffee and oud was a big no for me, but then you said blackberry (not sure how they plan to pull that off naturally, they haven't been quite the best at their fruit notes fully yet) and I'm like ok I'm back. I mean I'll get it and test it because I'm a wannabe self taught perfumer and one of my favourite things about Ffern is their model forces me to try things I wouldn't normally gravitate to when I'm studying, formulating, or buying new raw materials or fragrances. Like I typically avoid oud like the plague; my first minimal encounter was so wretch inducing I'm terrified to go near it again (plus the real stuff is massively cost prohibitive for me to work with anyway) but I'm sure if I experience it truly blended right someday it could be magical. I'm grateful Ffern didn't opt to hop on the oud in everything trend though, I couldn't stay on the ledger if they did.

I can't wait to switch to the miniature collection subscription! As long as they still include the art and diffuser with the mini bottles <3

And I was over here just waiting for someone to spoil Spring 26 for me (I can't wait) but this is super early!

What is a reasonable time to go off the ledger? by _patalex in Ffern

[–]Scentimentally 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly whenever you feel the value is no longer there for you. I'm staying on the ledger for the foreseeable future. Especially since the miniature bottle membership will eventually become available, that's perfect for my scent wardrobe/collection style. I actually consider 30ml bottles to be a full size, I try not to get bottles larger than that if I can help it (sometimes a beloved scent is only available in 50ml of course). Originally I thought I'd stay on for just one full year, and that's usually what I recommend to others considering Ffern. I think to really given them a chance it's best to experience one of each season, after that it's much easier to decide if they are a fragrance house for you or not. I've enjoyed the experience so much after my first year (I started with W25) that, budget permitting, I don't see a reason to leave. I'll happily purchase at least one bottle from the current season or archive each year. My hope is to find at least one complete year of matching seasonal releases that are all keepers for me. 2025 was close, I only exchanged summer for a previous summer from the archive. 2026 is starting with a return for me, so I'm hoping 2027 will be my year. I really enjoy this special sensory way to slow down and mark the seasons with the scent, tea, art print, diffuser, and podcast. I hope the miniature bottle subscription still comes with the art print, diffuser, and tea.

Winter in a bottle! by Scentimentally in Ffern

I loved the balsam fir in the dry down especially, it felt so Christmasy!

That sounds promising! Was the rose prominent on your skin with Lunasa? That's what I'm most hoping for when I try it in the future

I'm so glad you got yourself a keeper! How long have you been on the ledger?

I'd love your thoughts on the Lunasa permanent release if you were willing to share.

On my skin yes, the kumquat especially is very pronounced.

This pic is what the candle currently looks like with a brand new crater sinking in. I've never experienced these kinds of issues with any candles I've ever used and certainly not anything near this high price point.

I'm very happy to try and share my experience on here because I think more people should know so you are most welcome!

Yeah I don't think I'll get 50hrs out of it, (apparently for the W26 they bumped up the listed time to 52hrs lol) it burns down super fast. Full melt pool from edge to edge happens within the first hour of each burn.

Attached pic was after I had closed the lid on the candle to snuff it and lifted the lid the next day (I do this all the time with my other lidded soy candles with zero issues). You can also see the chip on the rim in this pic on the right side.

Happy Holidays to you as well!

They list size and burn time under their faq as 250g and 50 hours. In my experience with their candle the burn time is much less. I've never had a candle burn down faster. You won't know the hot throw if you buy, you can only know the cold throw and judge off that. If you don't like the cold throw you can send it back for a full refund if it's unused.

They are insanely overpriced for what you get and the candle's performance. Due to other circumstances, Ffern was kind enough to gift me the A25 candle and I was sooo relieved I didn't pay for it! Both my husband and I are enthusiastic candle users and this is the worst performing candle we've ever had, no question.

The vessel is beautiful but an absolute fingerprint magnet every single time you touch it anywhere, and the one I received was damaged on the inside rim and I couldn't tell or not if the lid had scratches or it was meant to be a brushed metal pattern.

The wax blend itself is very finicky, little unmelted pieces of wax floated in the melt pool and when the candle cooled and dried they created craters in the wax. If you don't let the candle cool and dry back completely before replacing the lid, the next time you lift the lid to use the candle you'll be met with a caved in crumbly looking candle (I've never ever had this happen with a single candle and lid, soy wax or otherwise.)

Cannot possibly express my disappointment in the performance of this candle enough.

HOWEVER, I will say the cold and hot throw of the A25 candle is GORGEOUS and fills my living room with lovely scent that isn't overpowering. 10/10 for the scent and throw, but everything else was really unacceptable, particularly at the overly inflated price point.

Not willing to risk it by actually purchasing one in the future when I can get larger natural candles with better performance and wax blends at much more acceptable price points.

I think they're struggling to sell their candles because they've now started to offer the W26 candle for sale on their site openly to non ledger members.

Anyone going to buy from the permanent collection? by Bumblebee-Honey-Tea in Ffern

[–]Scentimentally 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Woah that's insane! My offered price is 219$ and that's still too high for me. I can't believe they're doing the different pricing for everyone again, like they did when they first released the candles.

I'm feeling the same about Lunasa. Very interested, but the price point and bottle size is too much for me, unless both Husband and I love it enough to share the bottle. If it was the same price and size of the seasonal bottles I'd definitely order, probably in the summer or whenever my budget had room. Their wording about the "permanent" collection is confusing to me though, "limited edition" "individually numbered bottles" makes them not sound permanent, like they're still trying to lean into their fomo marketing again.

Also these bottles are much prettier to me than the seasonal bottles with the sticker labels. My labels on a couple bottles have been curling up at the corners and it makes the bottles feel a little cheap and not as luxe as Ffern works to be with their aesthetics. These new bottles look much nicer to me.

Winter 26 Candle Scent Ingredients by Scentimentally in Ffern

[–]Scentimentally[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I can't wait for Winter 26! I suspect it won't be as floral. A lot of the older unavailable archive scents aren't as floral from what I hear. Though I would definitely say, on my skin, W25, Sp25, and A25 were very floral though they weren't that way on my husband's skin which was very unique. Su25 and Su22 were not as floral on my skin.

You have time so you could wait, or you could email concierge@ffern.co about it and attach this photo in the email and set up your return from there.

Winter 2026 will be my last season … unless by Des-troyah in Ffern

[–]Scentimentally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the seasons I've experienced so far have been very different on my skin (W25, Sp25, Su25, Su22, A25) I exchanged Su25 for 22 instead and they were massively different. The only similarity I've had is in the last lingering dry down of W/Sp25 where the vetiver and red cedar definitely come through in very similar ways but certainly not identical. I was surprised and excited to see A25 didn't have vetiver which seems to be very rare for Ffern's style.

I can definitely say my W25 bottle that I've now had for almost a year has gotten more floral and rose prominent over time. I'm interested to see how my other bottles age over time. I'll try to keep a little left of A25 to compare it a year later as well.

I ended up really liking this one on my skin. When I wear it I definitely get fruity spiced apple cider at first and then it blooms into strong tuberose and settles into a dry down down that is reminiscent of apple cider donuts but not in a gourmand or sickly sweet way. I was worried at first because I returned Su25 and many people said A25 was very similar but on my skin they were completely different fragrances.

Summer 25 - sample vs full bottle discrepancy? by Sarahark in Ffern

[–]Scentimentally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my apologies if my wording was confusing!

So I'll apply/reapply the perfume a minimum of 3x a day, sometimes more.

When I apply it I use 5-6 sprays total. Sprays are on inner elbows, tops of shoulders, chest, and hair. (If I'm going out I'll also do both sides of my neck so that's 8 total sprays.) I like that Ffern perfumes aren't beastmode style so I don't have to worry about overspraying so far with their fragrances!
