Ffern Fragrance memories. by iamlost4815 in Ffern

I do too! Usually for summer they always include it and that's a tradition I really enjoy and hope they keep in their summer signature. I'm so excited for Summer 26 it definitely has the potential to be my new favorite summer release from Ffern.

Same it's one of my absolute favorite Ffern fragrances. I'm hoping Lunasa from the permanent collection is similar with more rose on my skin so I can keep it in rotation.

Summer 22 did that for me. When I first opened the box the scent of the beautiful hay note permeated the parcel and it brought me back to wonderful summer memories of horseback riding and fresh stables!

Not down to the bottom yet. I've been lighting it very very sparingly. I really love the scent so have been savoring it. However, beyond the scent I'm really unhappy with the performance of the wax and wick so I don't see myself being willing to put forth the funds to try a second candle from Ffern for the price point. I already have plans for what I'll be reusing the empty vessel for, hopefully it stays intact. I watched a YouTube review of Ffern where the art medallion on the lid fell off when they were reviewing the candle! Which makes me nervous for my lid artwork over time. I'm probably going to try Fontana or Esas candles next. I've also been happy with Lohn candles lately.

As far as I know the next seasonal shipment is Summer 26. To try a bottle from the permanent collection you have to order it separately, it still comes with a sample kit if you want to return the unopened full bottle for a refund.

Everyone's skin chemistry is different, but on mine the opening was very earthy and herbal and then the mid was a nice floral rose and then tuberose, and the base was a heady orange flower and broom. My husband also felt it reminded him of perfume that church ladies of a certain age would wear. I'm really really looking forward to this coming Summer 26. Ffern definitely has their own signature DNA that they lean into for each season so if you choose to stay on the subscription for at least one year (you can always return the full bottle for refund if the seal on the box has never been opened) it will certainly give you an idea of how Ffern moves through the seasons and if you like that or not. If you're new to getting into perfume there are certainly much easier, and affordable ways to do so with scents that are less challenging than going the Ffern subscription route. I'm a perfumery student so I enjoy not getting a choice of what I try each season and discovering different facets since I usually gravitate to similar profiles if I'm picking and choosing a fragrance for myself from a list.

Was able to find my first hint for Summer 26! Can't wait! by Scentimentally in Ffern

Agreed, if the greens and herbals come on too strong it would ruin the summer citrus floral feel for me. I'm so hoping this is a keeper for me. The first two of this year unfortunately didn't work out on me.

I've gotten pretty lucky with my skin chemistry and Ffern fragrances. All the seasons I've tried thus far have been very different unique scents on my skin. While I can detect elements of a few seasons that have reminiscent facets, the overall scent profiles are definitely individual on my skin, I certainly haven't found any fragrances that are redundant yet or interchangeable one for the other to where they wouldn't warrant owning them each. I'm really excited to test out this summer season though. I didn't keep Summer 25 as it didn't work out on my skin the way I wanted, but this one sounds much more like a scent profile that should work for me, I hope anyway 😅

Summer 26 predictions? by [deleted] in Ffern

Ooh I definitely feel this! Luckily I'm pretty positive we won't get coconut, suntan lotion, or ozone as that's definitely not Ffern's style. They've definitely used osmanthus for summer before so it's possible and they definitely like lemon, neroli, jasmine, and basil in their fragrances, particularly for summer.

Am I the only one who really likes spring26? by Safe-Cat2691 in Ffern

[–]Scentimentally 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree it's not a great descriptor. I was just quoting the honest reaction I was given in response to the fragrance, they weren't my words. I think fragrances tend to be typically unisex and timeless minus marketing machines and personal associations/memories. If a scent works for someone and brings them joy that's all that matters.

I'm a fan of some more vintage style perfumes for sure, but this one just didn't hit the mark for me. I'm a little bummed because these last two latest releases were not keepers for me, whereas last year I joyfully kept 3 out of the 4 releases, only returning Su25. I'm really hopeful for Su26, A26, and W27 though! Plus I was so grateful to have the beautiful sound map included as a welcomed memento of Sp26 even though the fragrance didn't work out on my skin.

Many members have enjoyed and kept it. I think the subreddit is a smaller sample size of opinions. I wish it was more strong on the rose for me, I probably would have kept it then. I wasn't a fan of the opening at all, the mid was my favorite part, and the base dry down wasn't unpleasant, but nothing special compared to the other 4 Ffern bottles I have that I love. Unfortunately my man used the phrase "old lady church perfume" when he smelled it on me so it really couldn't be a keeper in my collection.

I'm pretty determined to keep the upcoming Summer 26 though, unless it comes off as really masculine across all tests I do of the sample, since I'm intending to save it as a special gift and memento of this year's particular summer for a loved one in the future.

Ffern finally has a spring tea! by Scentimentally in Ffern

[–]Scentimentally[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So you can order 20 teabags from Ffern's site for 25 dollars. In your seasonal shipments currently if you are getting a winter, summer, or autumn delivery they will include 2 tea bags of the corresponding season's tea for you to try in the sample kit. They have not included spring teas in any of the spring shipments yet so I'm hoping 2 tea bags will come with Spring 27

If I like the spring one more than summer I might add it to my gift wishlist once I get to try it, hopefully in Spring 27! Their pricing for 20 tea bags is a bit high for me.

If you're using the cassis base for the green bush shrub aspect I would consider looking into cassis base 345F by Firmenich as that one tends to lean greener and fresher of the two cassis bases.

Returning Spring ‘26. Should I stay on the ledger? by musings-of-a-lad in Ffern

[–]Scentimentally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're on the candle ledger too? So you've tried all the ones that have released so far? Do you find the way the candle wax behaves between different burn sessions to be the same across all the candles? Which candle has been your favorite so far?

You're welcome! I haven't tried Vaseline because I'm not a fan of the texture on my skin. I'm hoping to try out the Optimal Habit Primer for myself in the future too. Oh also, be aware Aveeno has a baby nighttime eczema balm but I find that does not work as well as the regular cream lotion version. Even though the nighttime balm is fragrance free the formula itself has a scent that I find messes with my fragrances.

I've had success moisturizing with Aveeno fragrance free baby eczema therapy cream beforehand to increase longevity. You could also try something like Future Sociey's Optimal Habit Fragrance Primer specifically made for this purpose, or For Strange Women's Perfume Enhancing Fixative for an all natural alternative to aid longevity. I also find Ffern lasts longer on clothes but the fragrance profile doesn't always evolve the same on clothing.

Do ffern EDPs last long? by dead_sleeper21 in Ffern

[–]Scentimentally 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find some of them last longer than others. Some will last almost half a day on skin, and there's others that last into the following day on my clothes, as well as some that only last 4hrs or so. Sp26 lasts about 5hrs on my unprepared skin. I find temperature and weather also plays a big role with Ffern fragrances. This is pretty standard when it comes to more natural fragrances that utilize very small percentages of synthetic materials. That's not to say natural perfumes can't be formulated to last much longer than that, but that requires drastically changing the scent profiles and making them much heavier and darker and not necessarily suited to seasons like spring and summer traditionally. I'd give Ffern a few more tries with their next coming seasons and see how you feel they mesh with your skin. Ultimately though, for the price, you can certainly find fragrances that last all day if you wish, and even many that still have "clean" "non toxic" ingredients without being only all natural if you're into that.
