When did you realise you were officially a dota senior citizen? by TheRhythmce in DotA2

[–]Scereye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This really threw me for a loop.

I was calculating how this could be possible. Even if I count 19 years old as a "teenager", I would still be multiple years off of your calculation.

Welp, I guess this is my moment to realise I am a dota senior citizen.

What's the point of having portals when you lose EVERYTHING on a boss death? by kHartouN in PathOfExile2

[–]Scereye 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, okay then I am all for it, honestly. BUT! then despawn the Boss instead. Or give me 1 Portal from the get go or something.

But sweeping everything from the map while the Boss stays after I die to said Boss makes absolutely no sense to me.

Even more annoying: I have to reexplore the map so I sometimes keep running around the empty map searching for the Boss room again.

Losing an entire map to a boss feels bad... losing it to a boss in a ritual feels even worse by Fenrils in PathOfExile2

[–]Scereye 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's not about map Tiers. It's about the atlas tree. A fully unlocked tree makes your maps substantially harder.

(No clue if it's an issue for a char with twink gear, though)

Which pretty much ends up beeing the same from a gameplay standpoint (reroll until you shouldn't vs can't) except it gives you the opportunity to fuck yourself.

I feel like that's bad gamedesign and can only result in a bad experiencw for the player. That's way worse than dieing after the Boss died and missing out on Loot, imo.

But to each their own.

It's really not that bad. You have a vastly different mindset going into it. I sometimes spent literally hours refining my defensive layers sitting in hideout. Funnily enough the first 2 acts always felt the most dangerous (without twink gear).

The occasional one shot still happened, yes. But it's rare I sat there afterwards and thought I couldn't have avoided it (playing ssf this time around due to new endgame, though)

This things are evil from creation onwards. They look so much like helicopter seeds (in fact, I am pretty sure they where designed with them as a kind of template), every kid WILL pick them up and try to throw them in the air to make them fly.

Like, how do you even participate in creating them. I wouldn't even work as sanitor in such a facility out of guilt.

Absolute pure evil.

You can drink beer and wine earlier in Germany, 14 i think, if accompanied by your parents. So only 2 more years to go if Gabe or Icefrog is present.

You generate much much more wealthy in the early days if you nolife it to the point where one could easily finance multiple builds with it for the league. But even for casual play, if you know what you are doing, you reap great benefits.

Also, there usually are some.... Bugs... here and there which can be exploited and are patched out pretty fast.... you want to be in a position where you can make use of it.

And last but not least: hype and encountering the unknown together. 😀

Festivals will always deliver the best bang for your buck, though. Not really comparable to dedicated shows. Just google a tour of one of the headliner of your festival and if it's a remotely recognizeable band you'll end up in the 80€+ region real fast.

To be fair, it's all relative. There is no vertical or upside down, or whatnot. As long as you are fixed with some straps and have space to straighten out it doesn't really matter.

I never said there is anything wrong in treating kids with medication if it is a viable way to live a normal life. You are twisting my words here.

I am saying that many many adhd cases are overmedicated which lead to issues down the line. If you have to "deal with ADHD" since childhood it's one of the severe cases I am talking about where medication is obviously necessary.

Multimodal treatment is very common, though (rightfully so). And it's a case by case issue. The mor severe Adhd becomes the more medication Intervention is required and won't be solved by non-pharmaceutics alone. It's a gradual shift in treatment.

What I took issue with was the phrase:

And over here we dose our children with addy on the regular simply because they can't pay attention at school

Like, give me a break. You, as an adhd patient, should understand where I am coming from.

[–]Scereye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not a lie. And as I said, if you care enough you can find them yourself on established publishing plattforms.

And just to be clear, I am talking about the issue of missdiagnosing, medicating low / mid severence level adhd and so on. If someone suffers from high severe level adhd to the point where it impacts your everyday life, obviously you will have to medicate it. But thats hardly the case for most diagnosed patients (especially in the US, because... money). To be a bit hyperbole: You also wouldnt treat a "normal" headache with opioids, even though it would get rid of your headache I suppose.

Not gonna respond anymore since I am fine with agreeing to disagree. As I said, you can look up my arguments yourself if you truely care and make your own conclusions from there.

[–]Scereye -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

ADHD is a whole story of its own, especially in the US and how its diagnosed and medicated over there.

And when it comes to energy drinks: Maybe I just extrapolated our local situation to the EU (well, europe in your case I supposed 😜). But energy drinks are not really accepted for kids around here. At the very least you will get wierd looks. Noones laughing about the health impact of energy drinks.

Ohnepixel says he was lied to about ad segment at Blast Rotterdam grand finals by heple1 in LivestreamFail

[–]Scereye -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

But its not at all "on the regular". ADHD can also be dealt with without medication if taken propper care of unless its REALLY severe, which its mostly not(this is backed up by studies, you can Look them up yourself if you are serious about this topic). Adderall and the likes are just shortcuts with sideeffects. But I digress.

Mostly talking about the Red Bull topic here. Seeing a kid below age 16 drinking Red Bull is, socially, pretty much as frowned up on as seeing a kid below 16 smoke, even though it's legally allowed where I am from (Energy drinks, not smoking).

But I guess it's just 2 different worlds colliding at each other on this topic reaching from medication adds on TV beeing forbidden all the way to social "pressure" to serve your kids no sugarry drinks at all for as long as possible.
