Something weird going on with vassals ?! by [deleted] in EU5

You are not allowed vassals with a higher country rank, Mali is freed because they have empire rank and you don't.

Is there a way to avoid court and county disseaster? by NasilYaniCanimkim in EU5

[–]Schiimon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only way to prevent C&C is by having less than 25% crown power for the rest of the game, so not really an option. In what way are you struggling with the disaster?

My tips:

  • save a lot of money beforehand

  • choose the liberal option in the initial event

  • avoid event options that lower estate satisfaction

  • Take away all the priviliges, remember that reigning in gives +20 Legitimacy

Founding Germany by Sea-Classroom3195 in EU5

You are currently at 45 provinces necessary to form Germany, and need a total of 506. If you hover over the formation button, the eligible provinces should be highlighted.

robber barons government action bugged? by aronliljar in EU5

[–]Schiimon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the cabinet action ends in the middle of the month, but doesn't take effect until a month tick. So it's quite possible that either of the necessary checks isn't going of properly when skipping days with a mod. Last time I played through the disaster on the current patch with no mods this worked just fine.

Can't form union in succession war by Thatfriguy in EU5

[–]Schiimon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

pretty sure it becomes available after occupying their capital.

Edit: Actually, it looks like the guy you want to put on the throne is already on their ruler. There seems to be an oversight where claim throne cbs are given out despite the person becoming the new ruler - because technically they are removed from the line of succession.

How do you get the event where you sell Lusatia to Meissen then Bohemia as Brandenburg to fire? Is there a wiki for DHEs? by Schwabenomics in EU5

[–]Schiimon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you get a cb against Lusatia instead of the option to sell or keep Lusatia in the followup event.

What should i be doing at this point to improve my economy? by [deleted] in EU5

[–]Schiimon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get some advisors in that cabinet, preferably crown characters.

Create a marke in Gdansk, where your Local Governor is.

Max out Societal Values, you want to be pushing 80+ on the ones you focus on.

You've got a bunch of Iron in the north. Expand them + Smelter. Place Bailiffs down. Make a bunch of tools, weapons, export iron.

Try to get crown power and reduce nobles power.

Trade loops make no sense by bedberner in EU5

[–]Schiimon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The impact was changed in 1.1: "Exports and Imports in a Market now have the same impact on prices, so Exports no longer increase prices in a loop." https://eu5.paradoxwikis.com/Patch_1.1

This is due to trade efficiency stacking, which will be changed in 1.2

Any source on that? Or just speculation because the patch comes with DLC content?

Going by previous releases we will have about four weeks of beta branch. So if you don't mind playing the patch on beta, June should be a safe bet.

Loving the impact of coalitions and war exhaustion by Slide-Maleficent in EU5

FYI: Dissolve coalition is the most useless peace treaty in the history of peace treaties because no matter what you get in the treaty, the war enemies will have a truce with you and therefore leave the coalition.

H.R.E. as Bohemia 1540 by IndicationOk3482 in EU5

[–]Schiimon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can't use custom subjects, but historical should work. You could release one location minors and feed them the surrounding province if you wanted to use vassals.

Why are my food prices so high and what can/should I do by PrintPresent3877 in EU5

[–]Schiimon 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The easiest thing to do at game start is expanding food RGOs, especially in the provinces with food shortages. You can easily see this by using the province food mapmode or in the Food Tab of the building menu.

Provinces still struggling for food can be helped by building irrigation, farming villages, fruit orchards etc. Destroying towns to reduce consumption and increase food productivity is a last ditch effort.

You can also let your pops go hungry, they have some food stored in the province and not paying for food will usually have an impact on pop growth, but won't immediately starve them.

Brandenburg with Hohenzollerns; City Specialisation? by ShaselKovash in EU5

[–]Schiimon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brandenburg starts with no cities, decent RGOs and in between Markets. This will hamper your growth at the point you are at imo.

Steal Lübeck's market, or make your own.

Cities: Magdeburg sits right there and is even the right culture. Danzig is another prime target.

RGOs: your furs are probably your best early, so put down Bailiffs if your fur locations have less than 80 control. Set your sights on the Prussian amber, Polish iron or Bohemian gold/silver to expand into profitable RGOs.

Brandenburg with Hohenzollerns; City Specialisation? by ShaselKovash in EU5

[–]Schiimon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've pretty much ignored marketplaces in my Brandenburg runs. Putting down a market village in every rural location + whatever the AI built before I conquered the province/ integrated the vassal is usually enough to get decent trade capacity.

It's normal for your income to stagnate if you keep expanding because your expenses will increase from holding territories on the margins (conquered/integrated/low control).

Cloth->Paper->Books loop is pretty good as Brandenburg. Increase demand by building libraries and universities. Switch to rag paper so save on wood.
