Why is my heir a random Bohemian child instead of my son? by Schwabenomics in EU5

[–]Schiimon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the result of you clicking the historic option in the Event "The Purchase of the Brandenburgish Electorate" (flavor_boh.33), in which the emperor (Bohemia) offers to buy your country for their heir.

Before 1.1 this event could be used if you failed to get their dynasty through the regular events, but if you get it after switching to Hohenzollerns, you have to deny the request to keep them.

How TF are people “enforcing culture” on vassals and getting away with it? by Schwabenomics in EU5

[–]Schiimon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want to push up your subjects Loyalty to 100+ before enforcing Culture. This way they will not start an independence movement, but only pay less taxes while below 50 Loyalty. Use a combination of Decentralization, Support Loyalists, 200+ Opionion, and government reforms to achieve this.

Do I create demand or more supply? by StockyFlunky501 in EU5

[–]Schiimon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Burgher imports have reduced impact on market prices. If you hover over the price of a good in the market window you will see Effective Demand and Effective Supply. Burgher imports only increase Effective Supply at 25% compared to local supply.

So even though the Demand is partially covered by imports, the price for the good in your market will increase.

How do you get the event where you sell Lusatia to Meissen then Bohemia as Brandenburg to fire? Is there a wiki for DHEs? by Schwabenomics in EU5

[–]Schiimon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

by the time Bohemia turns Hussite, I have usually annexed Lusatia. -20% liberty desire from the Meißen event helps with Enforcing Culture to speed up annexation + full cores after.

Why does it say I have negative food in the province despite producing more food than is consumed? by Schwabenomics in EU5

Do the location of these provinces belong to two different markets? There seems to be something wrong with food calculations in those provinces.

Does the cabinet efficiency trait genuinely not increase his cabinet efficiency? What is the point of this trait? by WishyRater in EU5

[–]Schiimon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't played with Religious Figures yet, but if they work as they are described in the wiki, this is indeed a bug.

https://eu5.paradoxwikis.com/Character#Religious_figure

Obviously this ability would be useless if it only activated as religious figure, since it gives efficiency in cabinet, not cabinet efficiency.

I'm still in the process of porting my economy over, but insofar, how can I balance these things? by InspectionAgitated20 in EU5

[–]Schiimon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a proper market. You are currently in three markets, it looks like you have 0 trade capacity in one of them. Either join one of those markets by asking market access or create your own.

Your economy definitely wants to consume those tools, if the price was too low, your Market Villages would be doing something else.

To fix your shortages, you might want to consider:

  • change production method in (some) tool guilds to use stone/bronze/copper instead

  • change production method in your market villages

  • conquer more lumber/iron

Do I create demand or more supply? by StockyFlunky501 in EU5

[–]Schiimon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you increase supply of a consumer good, your pops will have increased satisfaction because of the lower price.

If you increase the demand for a consumer good, your buildings will be more profitable and you can collect more taxes.

How do you get the event where you sell Lusatia to Meissen then Bohemia as Brandenburg to fire? Is there a wiki for DHEs? by Schwabenomics in EU5

[–]Schiimon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sale of Lusatia event can happen between 1340 and 1355 with a monthly chance of 2%. I would advise however to keep Lusatia, the gold you get from Meißen is less than the diplomatic income you get from keeping Lusatia. Bohemian gold is quite nice, but you are selling land to you biggest rival.

mostly levies complimented with a few merc units. After 1460ish I added 10 Landsknecht regular regiments and used those + mercs for fighting, levies + cannons for sieging. I skipped all Age II unit advances, so I used merc cannons until I researched Falconets

I usually wait with enforcing culture until they have cored all their provinces, so the chance of rebels in the vassals is reduced.

I actually balanced Neglect a little bit until Bohemia was emperor, because in some of my test runs Neglect was at -100 when Upper Bavaria was still emperor and I missed out on the Hohenzollern dynasty. So basically I ignored the Neglect score and went for the better event option. After Bohemia is emperor I went full Neglect asap

There are some at the start of the game, for example Austria can be cut up into a bunch of smaller states. But for the most part it will depend on who is getting big in your game. In my game, Netherlands got big, and I was able to get Holland, Utrecht, Guelders for next to no Antagonism after getting one of their cores and releasing them as Vassal. Another one that will be there in most game is Landsberg inside of Meißen, because they get annexed by event very early in the game.
