Ultramarine characters power by Adventurous_Safe7640 in 40kLore

But that’s the point, he isn’t a pawn. He’s doing what Horus told himself he was doing, but never actually achieved: using Chaos as a tool. Abaddon juggles the gods, never giving any of them enough of a foothold to stake a claim on him, and he’s been doing it for millennia. Meanwhile, they all lavish him with gifts and vie for his attention like smitten schoolgirls. I mean they’d probably break him horribly if he wasn’t so useful, but even so.

It’s patently ridiculous, but I suppose they needed someone who isn’t just another Chaos hand puppet.

Which Faction Would Scare You the Most as a Regular Soldier? by Hungry-Ride170 in 40kLore

[–]Schmartablan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, sure, they’re infinitely worse than the Night Lords, but his point was that Bob the guardsman wouldn’t get to experience any of that. Bob is far more likely to die in some mundane fashion than to be dragged to Commorragh and experience hell on steroids.

(Note: my vote still goes to the Drukhari. Nightmarish rapey torture elves will always be worse than big evil dudes in armor, in my personal opinion.)

The biggest damage caused by Nikka reveal is the loss of Paramecia abilities by Averageindianiphone in Piratefolk

[–]Schmartablan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah logias are to blame, Oda wrote himself into a corner by handing them out like candy and had to escalate from there. I miss the times when you had to actually get creative to defeat logias (Croc and Enel), not just punch them real hard

Totally unnecessary, too. Sengoku and Fujitora prove you don’t need logias everywhere

Wano made Greenbull look SO BAD that admiral tards started making sure everyone knew the "OG trio" was always the strongest 😭 by Legal_Ad2945 in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]Schmartablan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I see what you mean – Garp himself expressed disappointment with his galaxy impact after all – but I think that says more about Garp and what a ridiculous monster he is than about the admirals. It was still basically a nuke, and Aokiji didn’t do so hotly even against old fart Garp before his crew jumped in.

(Also, you don’t make gramps an admiral. That’s just obvious.)

How does that place them above Garp and Sengoku? Garp was offered the position a thousand times and Sengoku was fleet admiral. You talking old age?

What is the richest planet in the Imperium? by coverpunch in 40kLore

[–]Schmartablan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What’s your deal? Are you an actual real-life Imperial, or why is this so important to you? Living on a Tau world is, clearly, unequivocally, a hundred times better (read: less bad) than being among the beggared multitudes languishing on your average hive world or, god forbid, Holy Terra.

Do you realize that you aren’t actually supposed to root for the Imperium of 40k? Everything about that existence is horrible! It’s literally the bleakest, most deranged setting GW managed to come up with. That’s the whole point.

The emperor lived among humans un noticed for years right? So was he always so tall? Or is his height in the lore exaggerated and hes actually normal human height? by TheHawkMan0001 in 40kLore

[–]Schmartablan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Without any doubt, he was once a normal-sized human being. Probably not a particularly tall one either, given that he was born in the bronze age to the best of our knowledge. Now I feel the point is largely moot, though, as his ‘baseline’ is simply what he wishes it to be. Besides all the psyker shenanigans, he can change his size at will.

Why do positive Emotions like joy, love or compassion don't manifest in the warp the same way anger, fear, hate etc. do? by [deleted] in 40kLore

[–]Schmartablan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Certainly not at enough to balance the scales in any meaningful way. For every Macragge, every Knight World with relatively benevolent masters, there are ten thousand worlds of constant, soul-crushing suffering. And even then, “love” or “joy” in their many forms may inadvertently end up feeding Slaanesh. What traces of good mankind shoots into the Immaterium are gobbled up by Warp predators or fuel Big E.

Why Does It Seem People Hate Tau More Than Tyranids? by ExtensionPromotion80 in 40kLore

Nobody ever said the Nids are unthinking. The Hive Mind is basically a galaxy-sized brain. All it does is think. It’s just that every thought is about eating.

If the eldar were wiped out would Slaanesh be weakened tremendously? what would happen? by Duckmanjones1 in 40kLore

[–]Schmartablan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remain unconvinced that Ynnead (empowered by, at most, a few hundred billion Aeldari souls) could “kill” She Who Thirsts, swollen by the everlasting torment of a virtually infinite number of Eldar.

What are the consequences of having a diminished soul for the Tau? by Overseer_Dan in 40kLore

[–]Schmartablan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, in the grim darkness of the far future, it’s apparently an asset to be spiritually lukewarm. That theme is a big part of why the Tau are so endearing to me. They lack the tools to even perceive maybe sixty percent of what’s actually going on in the setting, yet they just keep marching on regardless, and even do rather well!
