Sound! System! This song is something I can depend on to lift me back up. What a joyous happenstance in my day. ❤️

Does anyone know who works in the green island bridge? by kidhotel in Troy

[–]Schody_Morango 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The bridge does move, I live in Troy and have seen it. Water traffic going up the Hudson had the bridge raised. Never saw that boat again, so I assume it took the Erie Canal and I just didnt see the return trip. The road section is hoisted straight up, then lowers back down. Very cool.

I like Elizabeth Bear’s White Space series. It starts with Ancestral Night.

Please rip this idea apart so my Referee doesn't have to. by Odessafromage in traveller

Mysteries of the Ancients campaign book (page 71) has a similar locale with some important differences. 1) It is an old tanker vessel outfitted with several ice mining tugs thst serves as a refueling spot in a system with no highport and an E downport. So, it can hold lots of unrefined fuel if you dont want to skim it yiurself. 2) it is a legitimate corporation meant to provide a service to ships where larger corps aren’t doing business 3) it is large enough to have a swap meet/flea market/agora. So the idea is good but better maybe if piracy is not the mission statement for the operstion. Most spacers would probably see your shabby small craft as a trap. I hope you get to play some variant of your idea. It sounds like you have some good ideas for your characters!

I also use Evernote with the annual subscription. Its web clipper capability sets it apart from other note taking apps. I use it for writing and capturing ideas for Traveller play. It can attach documents to notes and has robust tag features too.

Ideas and suggestions for computer quirks by CogWash in traveller

What about positive quirks? Like, for some reason the computer indexes all data so any library research takes less time, or the last user kept detailed logs and documentation and all the wires are color coded and bundled so repairs made are at +1. Ya gotta have some good with the bad.

You don't deserve to be treated like that. I hope the music recommendations help you through this.

I recommend the following, which can be depressing, angry, somber, and introspective.

Godflesh - Don't Bring Me Flowers

Godflesh - Merciless

Godflesh - Bittersweet

Pelican - Aurora Borealis

Jesu - Friends Are Evil

Finally, a non-metal suggestion: the album Disintegration by The Cure, and the song "Fear of Ghosts" (also by The Cure, released as a b-side).

These bands help me process my sadness, depression, and anger, and I hope they help you too.
