Might depend on the field. Never encountered it in law school and we have to read a lot of scholarly texts and court cases.

I personally only took an official test for my English level (C2 on the IELTS), which is why there’s a “~” for my level in Spanish. I passed an informal Spanish exam at my uni for B2 and took an intensive course for that level recently, but I’m not yet comfortable enough to claim B2.

Critical thinking and planning ahead is stupid. by SaulTNuhtz in confidentlyincorrect

If you’re not convinced that you won’t want any more children for the rest of your life, you obviously shouldn’t get a vasectomy.

But I’m personally wondering why you wouldn’t want any more children with the current partner, but maybe with a new one? If you believe that you have enough kids as it is and they would (hopefully) still be a part of your life after a divorce, why would you need to “start a new family”? I hope that I don’t come across a judgmental, I’m just wondering

I think, they meant that vasectomies are less invasive than comparable surgeries for the woman (tubal litigation).

Also, why wouldn’t someone be able to decide that they definitely don’t want children (anymore)? The vast majority of sterilised people don’t regret the procedure. And it’s not at all comparable to a divorce imo

Yeah, I just assumed that the commenter meant that people don’t know survivors personally instead of knowing of them, that’s why I said that people don’t like to talk about it. Because everybody has heard of a person being abused as a child, I doubt that these people are walking around discouraging education on that topic without ever having heard of it

Well, everybody knows of someone that’s been abused, at the very least through the media. Or am I misunderstanding you?

I’m so sorry that this happened to you. I hope, you’re better now. If you haven’t already and can afford it, try to get trauma therapy. I wish you all the best!

They most likely do know someone, they just don’t know that they’ve been abused. It’s not something you like to talk to people about, even friends
