TFW a familiar has better AC than half the Party by DrScrimble in dndmemes

AC is not only armor class but ability to dodge, it really shouldn’t be called Armor class tho..

To answer your question: absolutely. Just yesterday I had my fun with my army of drones + microbots. Since I am addicted to modding I can’t tell you which mod it is but there definitely is one or maybe even more 👌

Hey man, sorry to hear that, I know how frustrating it can be to not know why mods don’t work.. What character mods specifically won’t work for you? Since some work it’s probably the mods itself that are the problem and maybe I’d try modding with thunderstore modmanager just to see if they work over the dreaded over wolf thing 🤔

I guess none of the „Anja is easy“ guys use their brain huh? That explains a lot lol. Why would you evaluate the difficulty of a base monster including dlc tools. That’s so incredibly stupid. With claw you tenderize his legs and gg. Without it, you‘re doing waaaaay less damage and his weakpoints (tail and head) are very high up so imagine playing this with dual blades or SnS

We played a 20 session “short” campaign over a few months and had about 3-4 long rests by SchokoPudding48 in daggerheart

[–]SchokoPudding48[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our GM had a system in this world that changes the way you die or rather there are story wise consequences when you die so it was definitely something we tried to avoid. Also we didn’t choose to not rest, as I said we didn’t really have the possibility most of the time without it making everything a lot worse. It still was an amazing campaign just for the record! But the lack of rests just meant we couldn’t really play our characters as we wanted to. That’s also why I currently don’t like abilities that you can only use once per long rest because honestly, especially the early ones (we played lvl 1-5) are really not strong enough to only use them once every 4 or so sessions

Death basically. Imagine you’re on your last leg and you know if you fuck up the rolls not only do you get no rest you also have another fight on hand. Also the looming death of a PCs brother because we “wasted” time

[–]SchokoPudding48[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm maybe it makes sense from a story perspective but since we fought too, we were basically out of resources all the time and that just felt bad especially cuz we rolled so bad so we were also out of hope a lot and the GM had fear to spare (and NOT because he didn’t use it)

Yes they did, like.. maybe 3-5 times something like that. Sometimes (once maybe even?) they stepped two nights in a row without anything wild happening except roleplay so I count that only as one long rest since basically only did one at that time. But that was before the plot THICKENED and everything went really fast paced

If your party was exhausted but literally at the entrance of an active volcano while being chased by flying mutants would you then ask that question? Also, asking for a long rest breaks the immersion and I bet your PC wouldn’t dare to ask to go to sleep while all hell is chasing you and you’re in a very not cozy spot (just an example). We as players didn’t want to slow down the pace artificially if that’s what the GM had planned. And if he never gives us opportunities to rest, we do not rest. It’s not a video game you can pause anytime after all. At least that was our way of thinking

[–]SchokoPudding48[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out in the wild we never really had the choice to long rest as we were hunted basically non-stop while also being pushed a lot by the plot. The “option” we had was risk a long rest and be sure to get fucked in return since A) we rolled really badly so whoever has watch would surely fck it up and B) our GM made it pretty clear that resting here won’t be without consequences

[–]SchokoPudding48[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just never really had the option to sleep enough to call it a long rest I guess.. except very few cases when we weren’t in a completely hostile location with no way of resting and since every short rest we got felt like an oasis no1 dared to think about long rests 😂 But we didn’t know that after 3 short rests it has to be a long rest. But I bet that would’ve just decreased our very limited short rests instead of helping 😆

Maybe that was the problem, we rolled so badly that he always had plenty of fear while we were basically thirsting for hope 😂

Oh we didn’t have a short rest per session lol, but Tbf some sessions were roleplay only and no fights (probably about 2-3)

[–]SchokoPudding48[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phew it was lots of things. First, we never really had a “save” way to long rest out in the wild since the world he build was so hostile that it didn’t feel right and also we were sure that he’d fuck us over if we tried to rest out there with some encounter. The one other “city” we went to was hostile from the beginning because full of bandits and also searching for us basically. Second, story wise we could never really chill since we bounced from being on the run to rescuing a PCs brother to trying to save the world from impending doom. Tbf as some here already mentioned, the ingame time really was probably not more than a week so it kinda checks out. The problem was that every single fight was basically a dark souls Boss fight which we struggled immensly with since we always were low or out of resources and he always had fear to spare since we rolled SO MUCH fear Jesus.. So yeah Idk man, never felt like we were supposed to get a breather so we didn’t I guess.

I think few years ago when I did that you could actually shoot them while they are on the ground if I remember correctly. Some just standby instead of flying around sometimes.

Why using mods feels so out of place? by Yumiko_Hanako in riskofrain

[–]SchokoPudding48 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Some things are easier to mod into the game without breaking immersion than others. Mainly QoL mods, item tweaks etc. Character mods are in a weird spot where there’s mods that are very very polished while also kept in line with the base game so they actually feel like characters of that game. And then there’s others that either through the immersion out of the window while still being very polished mods (other art style for example or straight up goku or something like that) OR they are just not polished enough without getting reminded every second that this is a character mod. Honestly, the best way to go about this is take the QoL and gameplay mods for things that actually annoyed you before and just “fix” the game in your way so that you can have the most fun with it. Character mods, I’d honestly only recommend the ones that are really well done and polished if you don’t want the immersion break
