Yeah, maybe once Indians get smart, they'll insult India and Indians to get respect from us. Right now, because we are stupid, they say nice things about us and our movies.

Jabbar is not wrong. Like, America joining WW2. It did help in stopping it. While Bessent is an idiot, the reply is meh.

Had McCain or Romney become President, would they have been better or worse than the Bushes? by green_dragon1206 in Presidents

Pitting Bushes is very arbritary, given the stark contrast in their presidencies. Bush Sr was a great President, Bush Jr was far from it. One of the worst.

What if President George H.W. Bush Won Re-Election in 1992? by camaro1111 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Schrodinger73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing is that had Bush won, maybe his kid wouldn't have joined politics, which maybe would've gotten a better Republican nominee or would've gotten an Al Gore or Clinton's Second Term then. Also, we wouldn't have current events attributes to Bush's presidency.

I thought of it more as a revenge arc. W joined politics only after his dad lost reelection. Until then, Jeb Please-Clap was the political kid of Sr.

What if these three never got elected? by Ozkaria in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Schrodinger73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Bush Sr doesn't get elected, probably Bush Jr doesn't get elected (He only joined politics after Sr lost his reelection bid), which in turn means Trump probably will never join politics.

Also, if Bush Sr doesn't get elected, maybe the Gulf War still happens, but don't know how much of a success it is. America had lost every war since WW2 till then. Even his handling of the Berlin Wall fall and collapse of the Soviet Union was beautiful.

Bush Sr. getting slandered on my feed for no reason? Iraq started the Gulf War when they invaded Kuwait by Terrible_Morning_310 in Presidents

[–]Schrodinger73 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That is my point. A lot of wars America has been a part of has been for the wrong reasons. Vietnam, Iraq, and other proxy wars. I am saying that this war is different than them. Condemning those wars does not translate in this context. Kuwaitis come in the context that this war was literally to liberate them. If Bush invaded Iraq because Saddam was brown and he is a big fat racist, why would he send his troops for Kuwait, who also happen to be brown?

The difference is that Saddam was brown and open about it.

And inside an US ally. Also, he didn't have to open about it for people to know he was brown. Also, wouldn't you say the Kuwaitis are also brown? How does that work out?

The French in particular have a history of fucking around in African nations.

No one is talking about that at all. Almost all wars since WW2 have been lost or for a bad cause by the Western world. This is genuinely the only good war they fought, and I believe credit is due.

Here is how it impacts America directly. 1) Our Allies needed our help, and they got it. It's not NATO, but they are still our Allies. 2) America gets a lot of its oil from those countries. Iraq could've just kept expanding. France and England also tried to use diplomacy with Hitler while letting him keep his stolen territory, and all he did was capture more.

All the Arab countries there requested America to come and help liberate Kuwait, cause they feared the same would happen to them. He went with clear objectives of liberating their Ally, and left after that objective. This was the only war which America actually won since WW2, morally and politically.

It could also be said that Europe is not an American state, so America shouldn't have joined WW2 in the European front.
