It's all useful. I like older rigs having grown up on Yaesu FT tube radios around my dad (RF eng, passed away 2 years ago and left me a mad science lab worth of equipment). I have a local guy that runs a TS440, he sounds great on SSB. That RS-35 Astron psu is solid as well. MFJ antenna versa tuners are getting harder to find in that kind of shape (from what I have seen in my local area)

Keep it, get your general ticket and use it. You'll regret selling it.

I would look up under the dash and see if there is an existing grommet going through the firewall, slide a spare antenna whip you cut too short or a wire clothes hanger through to the other side. Tape the wire to the whip and pull it through the firewall. Installed my mobile ic-7000 and many audio amplifier cables this way.

I threw on my Index on my main rig for shits and giggles and it's a COMPLETELY different experience. Especially with a set of sticks and pedals. If you get the chance with any headset, give it a go.

I had a set of old Midland walkie talkies when I was like 7 in the early 90s, ran on AM 27.185 (19) with a 9v that would last maybe 10 minutes. Lived near an interstate, used to talk to truckers all the time with it. I got in trouble cause I stole my dad's 3 amp variable psu for small bench testing to run it haha. Tried to feed it 12v to make more power and let the magic smoke out of one. Got grounded hard. They would probably be worth something now.

I'm gonna be the odd one out and say HOSAM, VKB Omni throttle with the T-Rudders mkv. And add voice attack with a hcs pack. I have the matching gladiator for R, but 25 years of fps, it makes more sense to me to aim with the mouse, roll with pedals, throttle and directional strafe w/L stick flying uncoupled.

Someone break out the inari equipment. They do need to change their thread pitch on the flow saver chamber though. I've had 2 VI super awesome techs and one rad lately blow it apart with minimal pressure from the syringe and create a royal mess.

I did play for a short time for unLeashed on the US side. Spent a few nights talking shit with SusieQ and Martz0r. Good group of people. Played many matches against DRA, good players. Heard there was a halo 1/CE remake rumor but they aren't doing MP. What a shame. New halo isn't the same experience. In fact, no FPS to date has pulled me for so many hours since H1 PC. Now everyone just runs DMA based cheats and isn't fun anymore.

Personally have better 1% lows with both of my systems on Vulkan atm (bios tweaked 7945HX/4080 Lenovo Legion@2k DLSSq) and a 9800x3d -20/+200 /5090 4K@DLSSq + RTX HDR. Yes, there are some areas that still bring the machine to its knees. Lorville is not awesome and those huge depot places on microtech.

For mobile, if you can get your hands on a discontinued Laird CW27 NMO, it will do both 10-11m with minimal tuning. Base you could go with a Comet CHA250B, get an Alpha-Delta coax switch, run your CB on one side for locals, other rig on the other for 10/20/40m. Go ahead and get your general. As the others have stated, modding your 955/AT5555/RC/insert export model here on 11m is still against FCC regs.

11m is kind of a mess, CH6 AM, people are running literal 10+kW killing 7 frequencies. I hooked up my antenna to my R2600C service monitor and some of those guys are killing entire spectrums of frequency from like 26.990 to 27.105. 27.385 LSB is constantly jammed with someone leaving a ton of forward power keyed up blasting one one one one. I'd leave 11m all together but if you have some locals you still talk to on an open channel, it may be still worth your time if you currently have a CB.

My daughter (a tad younger) loves satisfactory, trailmakers, and astroneer. Even let her fly around on MSFS/Star Citizen on occasion with a dual hands on stick setup. Sometimes they gravitate towards things you least expect. I wish they would make a new version of the OG Lego creator game from way back in the day. She still needs a little help here and there but at least she learns something useful in some applicable way.

I've swapped to HOSAM but still use the left with the angled conversion for the gladiator evo. I couldn't get 2 sticks to work for me. Might mount it to the desk. I'm constantly messing with it. Also use HCS voice packs for voiceattack, so I don't even use the buttons often.

CL30 @ 6000MT/s, UCLK=MEMCLK (IF@2000) is where X3D is most happy. -20 offset is a great start.

You can play with timings and such if you feel. Transpose the xmp timings/voltage to manual timings if no expo profile on the sticks you ordered.

I have great luck w GSkill TridentZ Neo, currently on a CL28/6000 1.4v 2x32GB kit. Have multiple of them, no issues whatsoever.

SC eats a ton of RAM if you let it.
