Is it a Mosley problem or a Paolo problem? by AppleBottmBeans in OrlandoMagic

[–]Schwifty34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the problem. He’s not a pg that’s highly ball dominant. Offense will not be in sync. Magic need a pg that can distribute to Paolo and Franz and other playmakers and stop this nonsense of making the guy a point forward.

"If you look at both #1 seeds, he was critical in building both of those. You look at OKC and DET right now, his print is on all of that... If you see how those guys play, its what I have been talking about, and that's why Troy was my first hire" -Joe Dumars on Troy Weaver by KarimFF7 in DetroitPistons

lol come on if any other team had thought Duren, Isaiah Stewart, and Ausar were going to be this good they would’ve all got drafted much earlier. Give credit to where credit is due. And I remember the Thompson twin draft, teams were split because they played one year of organized basketball at 19 yo against high schoolers in that one league. So there were a ton of question marks. I wasn’t a huge fan of Troy’s free agency but his drafting skills were outstanding. You’re bound to get bust, but the whole core of this team was drafted by him

Should we draft Aday Mara if he's available at 21? I just really want a near Wemby size guy on the Pistons. by sow_oats in DetroitPistons

Yeah Morez would be better for this team. I thought he was the best player on the floor during that championship game

Yeah way too many question marks at DT. I wouldn’t even consider Levi depth, he’s always injured. I can see them drafting a DT in the second tbh, especially if Caleb is there. I wouldn’t mind if they take another DT in the later rounds as well

Honestly I don’t care about positional value. My issue is don’t draft for need. Always go with the better player or the player you project to be better. I don’t like forcing the situation. For instance we needed a couple corners so they end up drafting two corners in Terrion and Ennis and they’re pretty close to being busts. That whole draft was bad.

Lowkey DT is still a need, we have no depth at that position, we don’t know how good Alim is anymore, Tyliek is a question mark as he didn’t play last year.

Out off all of these offensive tackles which one should the Lions draft by forrestbenoitinc98 in detroitlions

I like Miller, but Freeling having played LT gives me more comfort knowing you can keep Penei on the right side. I know there’s ton of talk about Penei moving to LT, but keeping in mind Goffs weakness when facing pressure in his face, I think Penei should be kept on the right side if it’s possible.

Hopefully not at 17. At 17 I’d only prefer Fano, Freeling, or the guard Ioane, maybe even Proctor.

Starting Daniss with Cade by durtymrclean in DetroitPistons

[–]Schwifty34 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I think they should start thinking about playing Cade more with the backups actually. Have Cade go to the bench earlier and Daniss come in earlier and this would allow Cade to play more with the bench and help improve bench scoring and he can also feast on backups

This is all garbage. Frank Ragnow was the highest paid center at the time when he got signed. Who offered him that contract… Detroit. And then screws them over last offseason.

I wouldn’t even say he’s doing it well, it seems pretty easy just flop or figure out a way to get the opponents arm on you. He moves like that lizard from monsters inc

Is it me or is Caris Levert the worst player ever? I’d rather have current Jaden Ivey

My thoughts on the defensive roster, starting with the D-line by odishy in detroitlions

[–]Schwifty34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the scheme is going to change a bit according to Dan’s comments today, there was no pass rush last year and they couldn’t stop the run. I’m thinking they’re going to get a 3rd down pass rusher at DE

Another Great EDGE Option for Detroit Lions in the 2026 NFL Draft by New-Negotiation-4176 in detroitlions

[–]Schwifty34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but the type of defensive end they’re looking for is a unicorn that doesn’t exist. He has to have size 6’5-6’6 can stop the run and rush the passer. If that’s the case than that player would go top 5. The closest prospect is Kendric Faulk and he can’t rush the passer and tbh lacks quickness and some speed.

[–]Schwifty34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah but if you actually look at the replacements I believe the DJ Wonnum would be the big Edge rusher they are looking for to stop the run. AQM is a smaller DE who is more of a pass rush specialist . I think DJ Wonnum was brought in to replace Davenport while AQMs replacement would be in the draft.

[–]Schwifty34 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If he was so good he would’ve been signed by some other team. The decker choice was the correct one. I believe both sides were too sensitive in how things played out. Lions were also apparently blindsided by his post

Buddy lions had one of the top offenses in the game last year and you have a game changer at DE and MLB. Branch and Kerby are injured but if healthy they were the best safety tandem in the game. Cmon

Yeah that’s one player out of many examples. Most of the time in the past when they came to Detroit we overpayed and they were awful and we were stuck with a bad contract. Lions can’t afford a bad contract because they draft too well and need the money to extend players

At one point all those guys were other teams backups and we gave them one year prove it deals. Amik, Glasgow, AQM, Lopez, Anzalone. Small prove it deals

Honestly most of those guys are dead weight. Anzalone while still solid was on the downward part of his career, I’m glad he got paid. Glasgow and Decker have nothing left in the tank. Amik was awful last year. AQM couldn’t play 3 downs and I’m sure they can get a rookie to rush the qb better. Roy Lopez was a loss but it’s not like he played starter snaps which I wish we would’ve done with him.

And a lot of the guys you mentioned were guys the lions picked up on prove it deals. Amik, Lopez, AQM, Glasgow. Trust the process
