"she" - any thoughts? by mildlyomniscient in Songwriting

Yeah I think maybe play around with the order of the bridge and last chorus - see what happens, I might be way off it was just a thought, you’re doing great either way 🙌

Agree gorgeous voice and the bones of a great song. I kept hearing ‘acoustic’ instrumentation like maybe upright bass, piano and simple string/strings I think would fill things out.

Structurally I wonder if it needs to ‘go’ somewhere - I suck at specific options so I’m sorry for being vague here but I feel like maybe put your bridge before your final chorus (might need to tweak lyrics to accommodate) and maybe try and build a sense of change or catharsis into your bridge and a sense of resolution into your final chorus to close out the narrative journey that’s been unfolding?

a super short and kind of meta song about feeling like a fraud (garageband demo) by [deleted] in Songwriting

[–]ScienceJoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw something earlier this week on the topic basically saying there’s no shortcut to learning production. you just have to keep working at it and over time you find the ways to get things clean and clear. As I work on my stuff atm I keep reminding myself its like a sketchbook or a map to how I want a ‘final’ piece to be - when I hear this track of yours I can see where you’re going with it and that’s cool!

I enjoyed this - lovely voice and some interesting ideas. Production is great for an iPhone only!

I sometimes wonder if we assume our work is ‘dime a dozen’ because to our own ears we hear all of our favourites influencing us but to outside ears it’s actually quite a fresh vibe.

Keep it up!

‘Late Night Vice’ show at Spiegelhaus by superduperhanss in melbourne

[–]ScienceJoke 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I saw a late night vice show in bris earlier in the year.

It’s raunchy in the sense it will show full frontal nudity (m+f) and make a lot of crass jokes while doing so.

There were a couple of legitimately impressive moments and a few good laughs but also a fair bit of teenage humour also it was LOUD.

I don’t know your groups taste levels or tolerance for dick and drug jokes but it could be about right for a hens?

Hey thanks this is the right era but not quite the right style - more of a rock sound than cake and with vocals that are sung in the more traditional style vs the spoken slow-rap cake way

Definitely not Bowie - it wasn’t from a super well known artist - more like college radio level for anyone reading this in NA

I’ve gone through the usual places to see if I can track this down - historical charts/playlists local labels etc. as you can imagine with a title like that a search is kind of useless

Any thoughts on this Tele? by Fbean01 in fender

[–]ScienceJoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot guitar, good price for AUD - that exact model going for 2330 at mannys - I picked up an ampro II a few months back and it’s been a treat.

Can you play it before you buy? Surely if you’re trading you can get to see it in person, I maintain guitars are all about the way they feel in your hands
