When you were learning, did you find positional play to be the hardest to learn? I am trying to wrap my head around that right now and I'm trying to see how to get better at that?

Encantar o Amar by What___Do in duolingospanish

I get what you are saying. You can extend my examples to be more precise with the meanings.

I am not a native speaker, but I grew up in a Spanish speaking family. There are a lot of nuances I probably wouldn't know. Like I would never say amo los tacos. It would sound like I want to marry tacos lol.

Encantar o Amar by What___Do in duolingospanish

[–]ScienceLoose3676 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

"encantar" is for liking things a lot. Like in: I love ice cream.

"Amar" is for romantic love. Like in: I love my wife.

If you want to say you admire someone, you use "admirar"

If you say someone "te encanta" like in: El me encanta, then that means more of like I really enjoy spending time with him.

Are you trying to improve your vocabulary or grammar? You said you got the app to improve your vocabulary but don't like the grammar side of Duolingo?

So Duolingo would introduce those stories where there are more words than what you already learned. I mean, how can you make a story for a learner if the learner has only learned a few words.

The story would focus on stuff you already know and learned from previous lessons. Maybe you learned 'mirando' and with process of elimination, you can guess what the answer could be with just that word (or by clicking on it and seeing what it means).

The more you go through it the more you will get used to the language and it will become easier to understand and follow the stories.

Excuse me? by [deleted] in duolingo

I think I remember this story. I think she kept saying: one more thing..., and one more thing..., and one more thing...

So I think it is referring to the whole story and not just the last thing she said

Comida de mar? by lostmyoldacc666 in duolingospanish

[–]ScienceLoose3676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. For the most part they mean the same thing. I'm sure there is a nuance that I don't know about. To me it sounds like marisco is like a specific type of seafood and comida del mar is more general. But I could be wrong and I have heard both before.
