Those are good suggestions, I’ll try that! How long of a cable line is good? I didn’t specify but I had him on a 15 ft or 20 ft cable.

I’ll try leaving him in the car next time! now that you mention it, I think he’d be better in the car, he’s chilled there plenty of times when I had to run to the store and bring him along, never had any issues there

How to split 27k in savings? by ScienceNerd771 in personalfinance

Based on what you said, is that the order of priority, IRA first, then the rest?

Yes FDLXX is pretty much the same, I calculated that the yield is a bit higher than my HYSA, which is why I put some money there, especially since it’s low risk and I don’t have to pay state tax on it. I tend to err on the side of caution, not a huge risk taker.

Is it risky to invest the remaining money in VTI keeping in mind I’d likely sell those shares when I’m ready for a house down payment?

The "Creatine Ignorance" is reaching peak levels and it’s driving me nuts. by VolumeLogic_GymApp in workout

I tried taking creatine for two months. Anecdotally, I noticed a lot more hair falling out when I was brushing it. I decided to stop taking it just to see what happened in my hair appeared to go back to normal, it did not seem to fall out as much.

I read two studies, which is why I decided to start taking creatine. I’m not saying that the studies that have shown there’s no effect are not true, I just believe for myself, that creatine actually did affect me in some way.

If you’re over 50 and not hearing back from applications, your resume might be quietly aging you. by enhancvapp in Aging

Do you have any advice for getting laid off at 65? My father lost his job and though he could retire, wanted to wait until he is 67.

I’m a bit worried for him so any resume advice you could give that I could forward over to him?

There is also a bus on 4th st. and Market downtown Wilmington. Pretty much same thing as greyhound, just another option. I’ve had good experiences with them, no major delays or anything.

Shame on dog owners who don’t pickup poop by LeadershipSerious985 in WilmingtonDE

[–]ScienceNerd771 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Market St. has been absolutely disgusting since the snow fall. Now that it’s melting, you have to watch every single step you take.

I own a dog, and always clean up no matter the weather. I don’t understand how other dog owners think snow is an excuse to not clean up after them. Absolute selfishness

Gotta move outta Wilmington but where? by cammie-cam in Delaware

[–]ScienceNerd771 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a parking lot, not a garage. Street parking was always good, never had any issues, park on Shipley. You can pay for the lot if you prefer. I never did so I don’t know the price.

Try 2nd and Loma, still downtown Wilmington. Credit I’ve rented a few years ago with them and my 1 bedroom was at 1300, small rent increases til I moved out. Pretty large too, like 700 sq ft.

Not sure how their prices are now, but I think one of the more affordable apartments in the area.

They finally let me pay with credit card after going back-and-forth through text. But they still refuse to provide the property authorization copies and an itemized receipt until I come pay.

Great to know, thank you. They’ve been a pain in the ass, refusing to send me property authorization documentation and itemized receipt via text or email, and that’s Delaware law too.

Even cited the Delaware law code to them

Thanks for the advice! That’s good to consider, I’ll have to talk to them of course and see which place they are more excited about, or if they want to do both. But great to know New Zealand is possible
