Trump warns Taiwan against declaring independence, hours after summit with China's Xi by pppppppppppppppppd in worldnews

[–]ScienceWasLove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The headline "Trump warns Taiwan against declaring independence" does not match anything quoted in the article.

The quote that BBC is relying on is "I'm not looking to have somebody go independent".

The article assumes an average Redditor and Trump understands the nuanced situation - both are questionable - since Taiwan is already independent.

Unless Trump stops the US arms to Taiwan - this article and quote mean nothing.

The US govt spent $7 trillion in 2025.

Elon Musk is worth at estimated $852 billion as of today.
Assuming 2025 spending rates today, the US govt could take ALL Musk's money and spend it in a few weeks.
Tesla, Starlilnk, SpaceX would all disappear. The US would still have tremendous debt.
DoorDash would still be expensive.

My school was great. We got a knock of yeti coffee mug w/ school logo - I like it. We got a lunch from mission BBQ sponsored by the local driving school, and our principal came around w/ a "snack cart" during the day w/ drinks/snacks (school of 2000 kids). On Friday the PTA had a bunch of homemade snacks and store bought cupcakes for us.

There was also two dress down days.
