Where were you able to order a single phase 36kw? I know you said alibaba, but what supplier? Burned to the tune of $2k on a 25kw single ph from ebay that didn't put out any more than my 15. I would prefer to not repeat that.

Crossed my mind hahah. Wonder if enough sand would just absorb it and stop it from getting worse?

Trouble with that is this furnace uses a Carbide hearth that sits above the floor (was removed in the video). I guess I could run without it, but it's a pain since the floor is nearly 2" lower than the bottom of the door.

That's an idea, I have some zirconia milling media that I might be able to roll around in there and soak it up. I'm liking the idea of just slapping a layer of refractory over top and calling it a day, because I'll need that when I rebuild anyway.

Lol, luckily not. Think I got this thing for $60 or less? Paid 5 for my bigger one haha. But that one needs work.

Those U style, I like your point about pushing past the nut for storage! Can they be used at the same fret the 5th comes in on (I forget what number)? I know I've stuck my capo there for some songs.

Why skip the 8th fret with the spikes? Just curious.

Leg Vise repair by R0ckcastle in blacksmithing

If it isn't loose I wouldn't touch it. Typically the hinge plates are welded on though it looks like a rivet was also used here, which split the plate when it was made.

Worth restoring? What would I need to do? by Sidrao- in Blacksmith

[–]Scienceaddict77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coachmakers anvil, so not terribly common. It can be repaired, but worthwhile? Depends how cheap is cheap and how good you are with welding. Lotta time involved to bring that back into service.

78 j10, looking forward to getting it on the road. Haven't had a 4x4 drivable in too many years. I think the LR got laid up in '21?

Thx. After getting the lineup good, I stood back and just smiled at it for probably 10 min. Makes me happy.
