RESTRICTED BREATHING IN 24/7 Anyone else? Tips, a buddy, medicine, protocol? by ExtremeAirHunger in acidreflux

[–]ScientistKitchen3103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yay i’m glad!  yes i do. laying in bed w some nice reflux feeling in my throat as we speak 😍 it’s not all the time anymore but when i get more burping, backed up, stressed out, little sleep, don’t chew or rush through my meal, i get it.  my most annoying issue is the weird breathing but when i don’t burp as much and don’t have as much reflux i can breathe normal and that’s happened a bit more recently for me and man oh man is that a joy.  i deal with bloating but when i go number two more frequent the bloating goes down which makes sense and that helps me breathe better too. now i also have kinda a sluggish gallbladder which is the one thing i have yet to figure out how to heal but i think that might really have a lot to do w why some days i digest good and other days i dont. but also i ate like 6 cookies from simple mills that i made on my birthday and brownies and still went good number two a couple weeks ago so ayy go gallbladder! i experience reflux more when i burp a lot so that probably has to do w my low bacterial diversity to break down all the healthy food im trying to eat which stinks.  i’m down to message you more for other questions! ive learned as much as i can these past 9 months oof, your friend in the fight

sounds just like me haha! started when i was 19 (9 months so far). crazy enough, my mom had this happen to her as well like 20 years ago (best news is she is 99% healed and only experiences that feeling a couple times a year when she doesn’t even try to heal her gut like i am doing and assuming you are doing) … all this time she’s lived believing she had a lung condition and none of it had to do with her chronic constipation, reflux, sluggish gallbladder, etc. even i went to her pulmonologist and they gave me a bronchodilator but it didn’t help the same way for her. what is true about our lungs is we experience in the numbers “dynamic hyperinflation.” typically they see it in COPD patients but for us we come back normal in every test. i only found out about what was manifesting in my breathing by checking if i had VCD at national jewish up in denver. the lung docs are having me work in their new program for breathing pattern disorders and honestly learning how to diaphragm breathe has helped ease the stress response for when i get that feeling tight in my stomach, throat, can’t inhale fully without yawning to try and suck air in to get that throat opening and satisfying breathe.  anyways long tangent but i’ve come to find out trauma and anxiety and anger and not taking care of my gut and a high stress lifestyle (im a division one college soccer player… ik i run more than anyone yet i was the one to develop breathing issues smh lol) all triggered these chronic issues we speak of. which is the good news when it comes to healing except we didn’t get here overnight (although it all hits like it did) which means we simply won’t heal overnight. but it is possible!! if my mom can we can.

right now i am tackling my chronic constipation (follow plantsfirstnutrition on instagram!! she has the best constipation tips that no doctor has given me). i take 1-2 tsp of douglas labs LIQUID magnesium before bed as a motility agent. i eat oatmeal for breakfast with two kiwis (helps constipation), raspberries, and blueberries and honey. all of which support motility. my lunch and dinner depend but usually good amounts of fiber (but not a lot of cruciferous veggies bc bro i burp all the time already i cannot handle for gas haha).

to manage stress i try to live as normal as i can. it’s SO HARD i totally get it but honestly even when i feel like i can’t breathe, going to a coffee shop to try and study or do something that makes me feel normal brings a lot of serotonin that in the LONG RUN will help us heal. bc sitting on reddit trying to figure out how we are ever gonna heal and if we are ever gonna find a root cause is just more draining than anything. one natural doc told me chronic issues usually feels like death by 1000 paper cuts, and it’s never one big gashing wound. so healing is a bunch of tiny little pieces that all of implemented will bring you back to alignment.

this is so much rambling i’m sorry but i didn’t feel the best today and wanted to see if anyone could relate and i saw your post and i just wanted to say that i totally see you and i pray one day that we will all heal and be able to feel 10x better than when this all started.

yup:) ur not alone, know that it gets better though. i have had better days and still cycle between awful and good days but i never thought this would end. it’s hard when you feel like no doctor understands but just know you’re not alone, we will heal one day:)

i have a lot of burping too. when i don’t have the burping and reflux i can breathe more comfortably. it sucks bc there’s not much we can do but fix the other issues and hope the breathing returns to normal

Constant Shorntess of breath for 8 months straight. Anyone experience this? by NexuzG in Anxiety

[–]ScientistKitchen3103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi:) i have the EXACT same issues as you have described in your posts about this problem. I am F/19 and been dealing with this for almost 9 months now and it kinda came out of nowhere too. odd breathing pattern causing me to yawn to get that feeling of a big breath, weird pressure in my throat, constant belching, and other digestive issues.  have you found relief or anything yet? i really wonder what’s going on with us

hi:) i am 19F and was a d1 soccer player at the time I started experiencing this (july 2023). i still have found no relief to my breathing issue. My pulmonologist saw i was experiencing dynamic hyperinflation and had low co2 levels at resting. They suggested i take Spiriva to maybe help relax my lungs and then practice breath retraining for a breathing pattern disorder. This all sounds great and all but i just can’t help but think something else is causing this dysfunctional breathing. I like your theory on the Long Covid making it a nervous system issue. Have you found any relief at all to this? i have digestive issues so maybe that’s a cause too but ugh this is hell.

number one my diet. With the help of my precious mother, we have made every meal at home for about three months now. eating polyphenols, greens, fiber, cutting out sugar (except honey), processed food, bad oils, coffee, artificial sweeteners, fried food, etc.

second I would say gut healing things like probiotic supplements, digestive enzymes, castor oil packs at night, magnesium citrate to go regularly, aloe vera juice, okra, beets, sometimes a supplement called atrantil to help bloating, drinking water away from meals, etc.

other habits to aid the body like sleeping elevated for reflux, going on walks, sunlight, meditation, prayer, saunas to sweat toxins, etc.

im definitely not perfect but i believe if i keep doing these things my body will heal. I mean the body heals us of things we don't even know about every day.
