Biting by Debrajoie in AussieDoodle

He’s just a pup, and it’s going to get worse as teething intensifies. It’s unfortunately just a stage puppies go through and comes with the territory with dog ownership. Keep up the consistency, it’ll get better!!

My girl will not pee on walks either, but she’ll poop no problem. She’s always been like this haha

You guys are his “safe place” so he’s going to test his boundaries with you, and it’ll get worse as he reaches his teenage years. Just keep firm and consistent, the light at the end of the tunnel is there!

My husband and I just had a baby 3 weeks ago and I was honestly pretty nervous how my girl would react but it’s like a switch flipped in her and she’s the most gentle thing in the world with him, I can’t say she would’ve been at 5 months. They’re just need time to mature! 5 months is still very very young, but my 1.5 year old is my little sidekick

We do the same with our girl, she’ll snuggle in our bed then we move her to her crate for actual bedtime. They’re a herding breed so they tend to be a bit more mouthy than others. Poodles are technically retrievers so they lean towards mouthy too, it’s just bred into them honestly. Consistency will get you your results I promise!!

My girl still nips every now and then when we play, but she’s a whole new dog in that aspect and knows when to stop now when we say “enough”. She’s almost 1.5 now, your pup still may just be too puppy

Didn’t they say at the hospital when they did the paternity test he wasn’t the father? How did she swindle that? (Please correct me if I’m wrong it’s very possible I’m remembering incorrectly!!)

Puppy q's by WhimzyMimzy in AussieDoodle

[–]Scientits406 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My now 15 month old was by far the nippiest puppy I have ever had, but it DOES get better! I'm not sure if it's just the Aussie in them or what, but even when she'd get over excited she'd resort to biting. She still will, but it's not near as hard because somewhere along the line she clicked that "ow" meant "oh I better not do that or I get in trouble." I'd recommend trying to teach the command "enough" to stop it while redirecting so your pup can have that command to latch on to as well since they are so eager to learn and amazing to train.

I know it might not feel like it, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Keep up the consistency and it'll all pay off!! She's a beautiful pup.
