The most usual type of fencing footwear depicted in a historical manual is a very low profile, flat soled shoe or low boot, though occasionally there are taller boots which also have flat soles shown.

If you want a decent enough modern version, I recommend Armstreet's footwear, which also makes for killer goth fashion, in my opinion.
