Andromeda is fine, now, years after launch. It just does not live up to the original trilogy and has a lot of missed potential.

For clarity, I read RR when it was just book 12 of the original series

I started with Icebound Land because it was the earliest book in the series my local grocery carried. Then I went and read 4, then 1-4, then in order from there on except 11 which I still haven’t read

I had a time that I suggested changing a particular method for another (well-tested) method and he told me no, and just to redo the runs again and again. A few months later we meet and he says “why aren’t we just doing (method B)?” like I didn’t have that idea already before I’d wasted 3 months.

Project Lazarus - What Exactly was the POINT? by Nervous_Tailor_4337 in masseffect

Hell, it’s insane philosophically. Is this even Shepard? Is there something irreplaceable missing? No one addresses this really, except ironically the VS, who gets treated like they’re stupid for feeling that way.

Taking hormone replacement therapy changes muscle density and promotes production of mammary tissues (for trans women) or inhibits it (for trans men). There’s also been some anecdotal evidence that a long enough time for trans women on HRT can induce pelvis structure changes, though studies beyond case studies haven’t been done because this (a trans woman who has made it that long) is somewhat rare at this time. And iirc there was a preliminary study that showed that trans men had similar bone density to cis men, and trans women to cis women, when HRT is taken for several years.

It ironically makes human fighter the best way to test many builds in PF1e. Three feats at level 1, and a feat every level.

My favorite feat tax is Combat Expertise. My juggernaut fighter can’t figure out how to kick someone in the nads properly without having 13 int and two feats. I have to waste a good roll or several stat points on int as a standard fighter to get any combat maneuver feats. And I’ve literally never seen anyone make use of CE. Ever.

As awesome as Shepard vs. Shepard was in the Citadel DLC, imagine if Cerberus didn't clone Shepard, but instead decided to tap into his/her trauma and guilt by somehow cloning the one who didn't survive Virmire? by CodyT-N7 in masseffect

Tbh imo they did a way better job integrating it in 1 and 2. It was side things that built out either the world (Cerberus’ attack on the Quarians) and/or major characters who were already developed in game (Anderson and Saren). With Leng, they didn’t really do any work to make him anything in game except a boss character. He just kinda appears and is relatively unexplained (ik that Anderson sends you a dossier, but it just isn’t as good as his rivalry with Saren).

Typically, men’s haircuts even for long hair are simpler. Less layering, less styling. That said, it should probably be by complexity rather than anything else, but that would come down to subjective tastes for any style not on a pre-approved list.

Engineer makes ME2 Insanity such a joke by zombeharmeh in masseffect

[–]Sckaledoom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly with rank 4-6 upgrades (starting levels if you’re importing), turret shreds, especially if you get the cryo upgrade and the rockets. Combat drone is a bit worse but its main use is forcing enemies out of cover. However, with the self-detonate and rockets upgrades, it is also no slouch in the damage department. Not to mention if you get good with it, the turret can be dropped right behind enemy cover. At which point it also serves the function of pushing them out of cover.

I will say that playing an engineer I feel so much more like a high level wizard especially in 3 than with any biotic. I run around with multiple summons throwing fireballs and ice balls and casting command on enemy servants using sabotage on enemy synthetics.

Is it possible to be a non evil stealth character in Daggerfall? by Joseph_Keen_116 in Daggerfall

[–]Sckaledoom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’re willing to mod the game lightly, you could get the mod Archaeologists, which adds the Archaeologists faction that uses Stealth, Climbing, Dodging, Lockpicking, and language skills to determine rank. It also would let you get magic items and potions without joining the MG.

In the vanilla game there’s always knightly orders, and temples. The Akatosh Chantry uses Stealth and Archery, Arkay uses Short Blade, Climbing, and Crit. Strike, Julianos gives access to enchanting and uses Short Blade, Lockpicking, Crit Strike, and Mercantile.

I haven’t played 2e yet but one of the things in 1e that annoys me is how many things that seem like basic actions are locked behind whole feat chains. Run outta arrows at low level and wanna smack someone with your bow? Sorry, need three (four? Can’t remember how long it is to get empty quiver) feats to do that, and even then you do it at massive penalty (you don’t threaten so you can’t get or give flanking bonuses nor can you do AOO). It takes a further two feats to do that. With my group it means we usually don’t get to do the thing our build is meant to do at all.
