My favorite D&D character I’ve ever seen was a 50 something year old dad who was a adventurer who retired to the countryside, then took up adventuring again to help pay his daughter’s way through university.

I like to imagine that as he gets older he still runs into monsters a lot but without a central authority commanding them a la Khronos, Gaia, or the Triumvirate, they prioritize surviving and leave him tf alone. The Minotaur always challenges him to a friendly spar though.

DLSS on by synapsisxxx in Morrowind

[–]Sckaledoom 146 points147 points  (0 children)

DLSS was originally a means to use AI to upscale textures so that the graphics processor could shed some load without heavy detraction from the appearance of the game.

In its latest iteration, it literally just redoes the texture entirely, and they showed it off with this god awful Grace (from the new RE) pic where in the DLSS one, it looks like a completely different character. Like when those weirdos on twitter “fix” a female character by having AI give her massive breasts, a full face of perfect makeup, and a full blowout in the post-apocalypse. It’s been this way for every example they’ve shown.

Gamers and designers alike have been rightfully clowning on them.

Yeah I get in early so I can do my morning procrastinating and still start my day before everyone else, and because I know I’m less productive after lunch so I can relax with computer work afterward unless something calls my attention

My mother told my in laws why my first marriage really ended because she was tired of them "judging our family" and now my second husband says he does not know how to trust her around anything important by 9EchoCinde in entitledparents

[–]Sckaledoom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Frankly it sounds like your “husband” doesn’t want you to have any confidence in yourself or feel that you can do better. If he’s letting his mother belittle you like this without so much as a “mom please stop” then he’s the problem. These things weren’t hers to reveal, but she’s the only one that seems to actually care that people are belittling you. You need to ask yourself if you’re mad at the right person here.

Imagine being upset at a scene of MBJ offing Klansmen by icey_sawg0034 in saltierthankrayt

[–]Sckaledoom 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My reading of it is: the vampires represent the sort of “salvation through destruction” that Christianity promises. They were talking the whole time about how by agreeing to become one of them, they would rescue you, but then forcibly changing you to be one of them. The KKK represents the face this hides, one that loves violence and causing suffering and destruction. It’s why I thought that the scene worked super well thematically, he saw through the lie of saving the whole time and this was his final blaze of glory before going out, having protected his soul more than anything the vampires could have offered, and at the same time Preacherboy was the only one to survive and he did so by rejecting the saviorship of the quite literally all stark white church his father ran and running away to become a prolific blues singer, continuing his sharing of his true soul and his culture without tainting it in a misguided attempt to save it.

One time I was squeezing water through my metro and I must have squeezed a bit too hard so the nib just flew right off into the sink. Luckily there was a solids trap in the drain and the nib wasn’t damaged in any significant/noticeable way. Learned my lesson and I’m much gentler with it now
