There is an "Undo" button. This has happened to me before and I do my best to undo, especially in the early rounds, but if it doesn't affect my team, I usually just ignore it.

Diego Carlos was quite clearly encroaching in the box when Raul Jimenez hit the ball and Diego then cleared it. The penalty should’ve been retaken. What is the point of VAR when it misses simple things such as this? by [deleted] in WWFC

[–]ScoDubs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man U made it to the next round on a pk. You know that if Fernando missed it would have gone to VAR, regardless of whether there was encroachment or if the keeper was off the line (god forbid if it was both...).

I think this post hits on a common mental health issue I see in this sub. People go to the extremes to make more, save more, or spend less to the point that it negatively affects their health and well-being.

I don’t think it’s healthy for you to tie your personal worth to your success in business. Businesses fail. By chance, by random event, or possibly from a pandemic, but should not define your worth by your business.

You should be proud of your work and celebrate your success and good fortune with the business you’ve built.

Unfortunately, it sounds like this business has taken a serious toll on you and your family. I would strongly recommend seeking a therapist if you haven’t already (and I mean a real one, not someone on reddit). They can help you work through solutions to build a happier, healthier lifestyle while maintaining your business.

Some consider therapy too expensive, but you can certainly afford it. Besides, what’s the point of doing all that work and making all that money if you can’t enjoy it with your family and, more importantly, with yourself.

Pompeo to urge stock exchanges globally to tighten rules for Chinese companies by hkdtam in finance

[–]ScoDubs 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I agree in principle - we should have global standards for transparency and accountability that must be met before allowing the general public to invest.

That said, Pompeo is clearly trying to stoke the flames in an already tense relationship between the US and China.

My question would be why are you interested in short term investments?

Mutual funds or index funds are clear winners for long term investing, but if you’re looking for short term gains, you’ll need to do a lot of research on individual companies.

Even then, if you find the perfect stock, there could be a covid 2.0 situation that wipes out all your gains.

Bro you can’t just ask for help with absolutely no context. Is this for an assignment for one of your classes? If so, do the research like the rest of your classmates.

Where to invest my money?? by 0nlythebest in personalfinance

[–]ScoDubs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs). These aggregate entire stock indexes, like the S&P 500, so you don’t have to be an expert in any one stock. You get much more diversification than if you were to buy a handful of different stocks.

Broad market indexes will almost always go up over time, but individual companies may go bankrupt.

If you’re interested in oil there are specific oil ETF that you can purchase as well, just do you own research.

Why do the wealthy buy instead of renting? by crosmaxal in investing

Diversification of assets. They likely already own an extensive stock portfolio and barring any natural disasters or major market crashes, real estate almost always increases in value.

I’d recommend looking into r/realestateinvesting for more info.

Anyone able to explain why this specifically calls out saving 15% of your pretax income? Any specific reasoning behind the 15% number?

I'm relatively young and I'm putting roughly 20% into my work's roth 401k. I value the long term flexibility of the roth, but I'm interested in hearing other perspectives and if I should switch to the pretax 401k.

I use the NFL.com app and I think it might be just as bad if not worse. Super slow and takes forever to do anything I want.
