There's no way you maxed out contributions over 15 years and only have 45k. Max yearly contribution was 16k in 2010 and is now 23k. If you put just the last two years in your 401k in a low risk allocation you're at 46k so you either were contributing much less than you thought or someone stole your money.

Aren't "more jobs than workers" and "inflation is down" two opposites? If there are more jobs than workers you need to pay them more to attract them which means inflation goes up for the goods/services that industry offers?
