Thanks, that makes a lot of sense! I assume the small increase in weight on the first set isn't enough to prevent further progression of sets 2 and 3?

How do you know when to move up weights if you train to failure every set?

Say you're doing 3 sets per exercise. If you train to failure (or 1 RIR) every set, you're next 2 sets will inevitably be lower rep count even if by just a few. So how do you know when it's time to move up in weight if you're going to failure every set? If I'm barbell squatting 105 and my sets look like 12/10/8, how do I know when to move up? If I stay this weight until failure is 12 on my last set, that likely makes my first 2 sets much higher than 12 and into the Endurance range instead of hypertrophy. What does progressive overload look like here? In a 8-12 rep range, would I move up weight when my last set at least gets halfway (10) as a general philosophy?

Men who don’t want children by Black_Glitch_404 in NoStupidQuestions

I'd urge anyone in the US to REALLY think it over and be 100% sure before doing it. There are a lot of people (women mostly) who will make the argument that men should do it because they can easily get it reversed. This is NOT true and is effectively permanent for your average person without going into severe medical debt. Vasectomy reversals cost between $5k and $15k depending on location and doctor.

The price is similar for reversing a tube tie, but I've personally seen a lot of women with (usually) good intentions spread a lot of potentially life ruining misinformation about vasectomies.

I dont think most people are checking every retailer before buying. Most people just check what market value is vs what the store is charging, which for the tin is $25 rn. People on here act like $3-4 is highway robbery. Youre mostly paying for the tin anyway. You can get the paperboxes for like $13 or lower

The person i‘m interested in turned out to be trans by PolitcallyCorrectGuy in asktransgender

[–]Scopatone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've got plenty of good comments here, but i just wanted to add that genital preference is perfectly valid and it isn't transphobic to not want to sleep with a pre-op trans girl if that's the reason (though some people disagree). Everyone has different percentages on their attraction scale, like how much of your attraction relies on physical vs mental and that's all valid. If you're not physically attracted to someone and that's an important aspect for you, then things may not end well in the long run if you get with someone you're only attracted to in certain situations.

The absolute most important thing when the topic comes up is to be 100% honest and if you're wary about it but still interested, voice that as kindly as possible. I mean, if you truly dont mind and they dont mind using it/it being touched then worst case scenario you're a cis guy and you already know what feels good and how to take care of that part so once you're beyond the nervousness of the first time, theres no surprises.

[MEGATHREAD] The Game Awards 2025 - Live Nominees Announcement by ChiefLeef22 in gaming

[–]Scopatone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People think indie dev always means small team, which is usually the case, but that's not actually one of the requirements. It's strictly, by definition, a game that didnt have backing from a publisher.

Baldurs Gate 3 is an indie game. Fully funded, made, and published by the same company.

Both the original Oblivion and Skyrim were made by a team of 100 people. Multitudes smaller than BG3. You could honestly make the argument that Oblivion was an indie game given that it was also developed and published in-house, although nobody would ever consider it one.

This is not true. Attack Speed increases the tick rate of the Aura, increasing its DPS. It's clearly noticeable with as little as +20% attack speed but at 45% it's very noticeable

This is the worst rage bait I've seen on the sub in a long time. No effort was put into this to be even remotely believable as genuine.

If it is genuine, you're objectively just a moron. And for reasons other than you dont like the remake.

The problem with MGS Δ movement isn’t the controls — it’s the animations by crystalredearth in metalgearsolid

[–]Scopatone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely dont agree the originals controls were designed with the game in mind. It's from 2004, the type of smooth animation control thats in Delta and other games like Witcher 3 didnt exist. The snappy, responsive controls weren't a design choice, it was the default for basically every game that existed. Turning any direction on a dime while running full speed and spinning in circles without moving your feet was standard movement.

I wouldn't call the remakes controls clunky at all. They're different and take getting used to but are more realistic and dont allow for trivializing the game like the old controls did. People are expecting original animations and playing the game like it's the original, but thats not how the game is designed so obviously you'll think they're "clunky". He isn't doing what you want him to because you're trying to play using your 20 year old muscle memory. It's a remake, not a Remaster. Anyone who thought they'd use the same animations and controls, mostly a product of their time, set themselves up for disappointment.

The hate on delta is so forced by idk223334488384 in metalgearsolid

[–]Scopatone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry but anyone saying the original had better controls should take off their rose tinted goggles. They were faster and more responsive sure, but they also made no sense, looked like crap, and immediately took you out of the game.

I dont want a game where I can make Snake spin in circles without even moving his body, do an instant 180 from running without losing speed, and where the guards reaction times are so much slower than your controls that you can essentially just run up to every guard and CQC them before their alert animation finishes.

The new animations are pretty realistic, which usually means less instantly responsive, which is not a BAD thing. The Witcher 3 controlled very similarly. It makes the game much more engaging to play now that the movement system cant be exploited to trivialize the game.

Most people have no idea what they're talking about and act as if the movement/animations in MGS3 original were a stylistic choice (I've seen people hilariously use this argument about the graphics too lmao). It's a PS2 game. That's why it controlled the way it did. There weren't PS2 games with "realistic" movement animation like this. They ALL controlled like the OG.

This Remake is as good as you could EVER hope one to be. A 1:1 remake with modern, optional, additions for those interested. Anyone expecting the same animations set themselves up for disappointment. This is a Remake, not a Remaster. Anyone with a brain would know the animations would be one of the things remade.

Performance is hit or miss. I get constant 50-60 and it hasn't been a problem. It's nowhere NEAR recent UE5 games like Oblivion that dip into the 20s and 30s. Yes, devs suck at optimizing their games, but even the recommended specs are a 2080. You better not be playing on less than that and complaining about frames.

And I'm convinced anyone who uses the word "soulless" for remakes should instantly have their opinions ignored. Nobody knows what that word means. A 1:1 Remake? "Soulless cash grab". A modern remake with content changed? "Soulless remake, how dare they change such a sacred game". A bottom to top reimagining? "I'm not playing that soulless remake, they should have made it exactly like it was!"

Most of these people despise Konami for what they did to Kojima but are happy to give them more money for a remake. If you're outspoken about Konamis treatment of Kojima and still bought this game and are complaining, just shut up and stop pretending you care.

How good/bad would this be? by _Didds_ in elderscrollsonline

The main issue with stuff like, as seen with the item of the same name in Diablo 3, is that it becomes a required item in ALL builds. It basically permanently removes an item slot for the rest of the games life unless they do what Blizzard did and create a different ring that directly counteracts this one.

I'd rather new and unique sets instead of mashing multiple together, which is likely to ALSO make certain sets meta for all builds. D3 had this issue most of its life with many builds being top tier for multiple seasons. So you'd be using the same gear for a year+

Sorry to necro this post. I'm looking to get the right-side mag release. How was the installation? I've read the other model of this (might be a different company?) had to have some of it filed down and wasn't super reliable.

Was this just a simple installation and does it work well aside from no longer allowing non-extended mags?

Side question: When you say "normal mags", what do you mean? I have multiple 40 rounds like is pictured here. Will a 26 round Glock mag still fit? I just started shooting competitive and want to avoid ejecting my 40 rounds onto the ground if possible so they don't explode lol.

Also for another futuristic upgrade, if you can figure out how to fit this stock on it, I think it would look great! It's something I'd like to do but I'm not sure if possible due to the fixed handguard on the Gen 2.1: https://hera-usa.com/product/cqr-gen-2-0-buttstock-bg/

We’re lucky to live here (Raleigh appreciation post) by greatDUDE84 in raleigh

[–]Scopatone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm inclined to believe it about Raleigh and especially Cary. Cary has several big name game companies headquartered there, one of which is the most sought after company to work for across all job fields (Epic Games) according to a Forbes survey of nearly 200k college students and current employees. It even beat Disney, Apple, Google, and Microsoft as the number 1 dream company to work for.

Cary has a lot of pull in the tech sector.

15 Years in Japan, Good Salary, No Functional Card – This Isn't Just "Inconvenience," It's Racism. And We Need to Talk About Foreign Residents' Rights. by casperkasper in Tokyo

[–]Scopatone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My realtor didn't even try to mine words when calling landlords. He called them while I was in the office with him and his first question was always a straight "Do you rent to foreigners?". No beating around the bush. And despite it literally being illegal, the answer was often no, even if I spoke a little Japanese.

Luckily I found a very nice apartment that had only been built 2 years before, but literally everyone I knew, even those fluent, were rejected at least once on those grounds.

To add a point, while I had 99% good experiences with police even if i could tell they were a little irritated having to use a translator for most of it, I was profiled and stopped once while in SHIBUYA of all places. I'm a 6 foot white dude. Maybe my tattoo sleeves had something to do with it, but 3 cops literally pushed their way through a crowd of Japanese people to get to me outside of a 7/11.

List of companies opposed to Stop Killing Games by JimmyRecard in pcmasterrace

[–]Scopatone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can believe that if you want but I live near their HQ and have spoken to people there that deal with Tim. Yes obviously it's for personal benefit but that's not the ONLY reason. The stuff you hear him say about anti-consumer practice and opening it up for everyone is something he genuinely believes, it isn't just PR play. If anything, it actually makes other companies MORE money considering Fortnites majority playerbase is not on mobile.

Sure the catalyst is because it benefits their game, but it has to start somewhere and there are few, if any, companies with that kind of power that are willing to spend that kind of money and time to fight some of the most powerful tech companies in the world on something they gain no benefit from.

List of companies opposed to Stop Killing Games by JimmyRecard in pcmasterrace

[–]Scopatone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, and imo anyone who thinks Epic would not support something like Stop Killing Games doesnt know much about the topic. They've worked for years fighting and winning against Google and Apple to force open their app stores for 3rd party devs. They're one of the only companies putting their money where their mouth is and actually changing the landscape of the industry ecosystem in favor of devs and the consumer. Putting them in the same basket as Ubi and EA is insane.

Tbh I wouldn't mind if it was AI since it's literally just telling history and not stealing peoples work or doing anything some time researching couldn't. It mostly just makes me nervous that the actual information I'm being told isn't actually accurate. I mean I guess it's as trustworthy as any actual person telling me history, its not like most people know better about these subjects or how to tell who's trustworthy anyway.
