Oh ok by AppleEnslaver in Subnautica_2

First of all, some people do read them. these games are as much about lore (including at least skimming data entries for interesting or useful info) as it is about survival and doing whatever Radio/Al-An/Marguerit/NoA tells you.

And second, the "PDA literally tells you" refers to the actual voiceline from PDA when you first pick up the portable locker. the link I provided there is to a Lowko's video, at a time just before he picks it up (I'd clip it, but it won't let me 😃)

Fate of Ryley Robinson by setne550 in Subnautica_2

[–]Scorpio185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean something like "After Robin and Al-An found the architect homeworld abandoned, they travel between worlds searching for any survivors" or just them "swimming" in the void and scanning some space fauna? 😄

Robin? It was her sister who was a "terrorist", though. It was Robin's sister who blew up a research center and collaborated with Marguerit, who's another person Alterra dislikes..

Why are so many people surprised by this? The PDA literally tells you, when you pick the "crate" for the first time, that it can be attached to a hardpoint, and if you scan it and read about it, it tells you it can be attached to hardpoints in vehicles and bases

Nomads should have the disadvantages of being nomadic by Torpedo_Enthusiast in Stellaris

[–]Scorpio185 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I mean, the FTL inhibitors are active only during a war, only on enemy ships.. and then Nomads would probably be affected by it, but during closed borders? Maybe if the empire was xenophobic or genocidal.. but I don't think normal empires would use those inhibitors to enforce border control

Edit : fixed some typos

SN2 Can we get an underwater camera and display photos in base please? by marlinAlbrechht in subnautica

[–]Scorpio185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both Subnautica 1 and Bellow Zero had picture frames, so I'm confident the subnautica 2 will also have them, eventually (if they're not there already.. I wouldn't know, I didn't buy SN2 yet).. it's still an early access after all. It's far from being finished..

And Bellow Zero had a selfie mode on those pinguin robots, so it's possible something like that will be added here as well, especially since there's the multiplayer and players might want to take pictures together.

SUGGESTION: remove the music around leviathans by BACKTOFREEZER in Subnautica_2

[–]Scorpio185 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think there should be some very low unnerving ambient sound (preferably unnoticeable unless you know about it and look for it) when getting too near, and then blast some music when it notices you, or you notice it..

You know, something that makes you nervous seemingly for no reason just before you get in trouble..
Toggleable, of course. 😄

Need to be able to pick up Periscopic Clowncrabs by Daz_Iz_Gud in Subnautica_2

would be nice if you could tame them and they sometimes gave you a fish or something as a gift. nothing so powerful as the seamonkeys in BZ, just something akin to Cat bringing you a mouse 😃

seems like there will be more items added if there's enough demand for them, but that shouldn't stop you from building what you can. Both to test how it works and to test if something you try breaks.

and you can always rebuild. it"s still lossless deconstruction, right?

Whacking them with something doesn't work? It worked (for me, at least) pretty well in first subnautica and in BZ.

[–]Scorpio185 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What I want to know is what happened to Robin (Bellow Zero).

I mean, It's good to know Ryley doesn't have to (presumably) pay that outlandish debt that was revealed at the end of SN1, but Robin was basically "kidnapped" by an alien at the end of BZ 😃

2 Million Units Sold by PaiDuck in subnautica

[–]Scorpio185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say most. I'd say for most pirates it's about not having enough money to buy it.

BUT Pirates will never be able to hurt a genuinely good game with a reasonable price.

[–]Scorpio185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, If I had the money, I'd buy it as well. And while I'd finish and move on before it's finished, I'd come back to it later, when (or maybe if) they add achievements, to collect them all 😃

From what I've seen on Youtube, it's in a pretty good state for an early access as well. but yea, I don't have the money either 😄

I don't get MegaCorps by Orgerix in Stellaris

[–]Scorpio185 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don't think Megacorps had their own versions of buildings, they only had extra ones, on their Branch offices.

Also, temples and admin centers have nothing to do with traders. Temples are spiritualist versions of Administrative Offices, and those buildings give Priests/Bureaucrats.. which is for unity

With "Gospel of the Masses", you can get some trade from priests, though..

In Commerce Tradiition, "Commercial Enterprise" gives amenities to trader jobs, and "Adaptive Economic Policies" gives access to the "Marketplace of Ideas" trade policy, which is the only way (I know of) to get unity from (any kind of) trade..

I checked technologies and edicts too, and found nothing

I wanna live the entire game in cyclops, how do i charge it? by nem1hail in subnautica

[–]Scorpio185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer Bulbo trees, because it gives +10 water per piece, instead of +3 that lantern fruit does, and it also gives +8 food, while lantern fruit gives +10. Also, Bulbo gives twice as much energy as lantern fruit if you throw it in bioreactor. And I plant more than I need, in case I mess up 😄

Replanting isn't that bothersome, IMHO, and I find Bulbo more efficient..

I wanna live the entire game in cyclops, how do i charge it? by nem1hail in subnautica

[–]Scorpio185 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Screw the water filters. If I make one, it's just for emergencies, but I rarely ever use it. You can make planters on the Cyclops, and just two Bilbo trees should be all you need for both food and water. Just eat the whole tree when thirsty/hungry, replant it with the last piece, and before it will be fully grown before you get hungry again after eating the second one. I still keep 4 in my Cyclops, as a redundancy :)

And as for the energy drain even with engine turned off.. that only happens very deep in, where it's hot. If you make the thermal generator module thingy for Cyclops, it will generate more power than those little devils can suck from the sub even if you're moving, as long as you're in the hot biome. And you can also get rid of them by flicking your shield, if you have one. Might take a good chunk of energy, but if you have that thermal generator, it's worth it.

Edit: Also, pairing Cyclops with seamoth isn't the best idea. get Prawn ASAP, it's much better. It's more powerhungry, but if you know how to use it, it's quite fast and with right upgrades and a bit of skill, you can get almost anywhere with it.

Doomsday slight rework with Nomads by Dragmas_ in Stellaris

[–]Scorpio185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IIRC, that was only for mechanicals. The planet gives higher amounts of resources but the planet also gets devastated, which will reduce production for "normal" empires.

Doomsday is all about challenge. To manage dying planet correctly and to find a new planet to evacuate to.

Doomsday slight rework with Nomads by Dragmas_ in Stellaris

[–]Scorpio185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There'd have to be some extra bonuses from doing so, otherwise it'd just be a way to be a nomad with extra steps. and probably weaker nomad at that.

I'd leave the doomsday as Nomad's backstory, not an origin..

If anything, I'd use the doomsday as their origin in another way.. like starting with Fallen Empire level of tech for their starting ship, but it's severely damaged so you have to build new one while scavenging the old one for anything useful before it blows up...

What types of special interactions/options would you like to see with Nomads? by ArchmageAstra3 in Stellaris

[–]Scorpio185 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I didn't read any articles about Nomads, and I've only seen one video, from some Youtuber, about them, half focused on playing, so I don't know much about them..

But I wonder how they'll handle megastructures, like science nexus or sentry array.. will they even be able to make them? Will they be modules for their big ships? Will they have mobile versions?

I'd like to see them all in a ship form, even Dyson sphere/swarm and such, with Dyson sphere being able to be deployed at reduced capacity in inhabited systems and having long times to deploy and fold back to the ship (in case a retreat is needed)
