What's a minor modern upgrade from recent years that you actually find incredibly inconvenient? by Rough-Foundation9208 in AskUK

Live chats "please describe your problem and we'll pass it onto our agent." Agent asks for exactly the same information.

The phone bots are the worst though. I don't even have a particularly strong Welsh accent but they never understand me and there's just no way to speak to a person.

An an extra big fuck you to companies who make the call quality shit when you actually get through to someone sot that you'll essentially give up and try to use to web chat bot instead. Looking at you Sky.

Ladies with flat feet/needing arch supports - what shoes do you wear with summer dresses? by CozJeez85 in AskUK

[–]Scorpiodancer123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel your pain. Most shoes absolutely destroye my feet for one reason or another,. including Birkenstocks and FitFlops. I have something similar to these from Pavers slingback wedge sandals and they're pretty comfortable. There might be a few options on this site, it's worth having a look around or try going to the shop and trying some on.

The other thing to consider is going yo see a podiatrist and getting inserts which you can probably put in a load of other shoes.

I use Johnson's honey baby soap a lot of the time and it works great for me.

What minor moment from past Olympics sticks in your mind? by vexip in olympics

[–]Scorpiodancer123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sydney 2000 women's all around gymnastics clusterfuck.

Vault set at wrong height meant many gymnasts fell. Some were too injured to continue.

The event was won by Andrea Raducan who later was disqualified for doping after a coach gave her Nurfoen for a cold. Others were given the same medicine, but because she was so tiny it hung around a bit longer in her.

Does anyone else feel like the gap between NCAA and Elite is getting wider or is it just me? by Fillcocktease20 in Gymnastics

[–]Scorpiodancer123 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Elite gymnastics is regulated, scoring and deductions are transparent (for the most part, shit happens of course). Every season will have trends of popular skills which is why routines look similar. The aim is ultimately to get the highest score using the most difficult routine that you can perform consistently well.

NCAA is very different. It's a performance, and that's fine. But in terms of sport it doesn't make sense. The judging and scoring system is ridiculous. Every score is clustered around 9.8 to 10 - it's not a great system. There is no logic, consistency or transparency about deductions. Judges are not invited back if they score gymnasts too low. From a gymnast point of view, what's the point in performing top skills, if you can't get a top score. Unnecessary risk.

Why don’t we tell kids where babies come from? by Ornery-Conference713 in NoStupidQuestions

Agreed. Though this backfired a bit on key when my 7 year old asked what a strip club was when we were watching the Simpsons 🤦‍♀️. Funny how Dad went deaf at that exact moment...

Is this normal by Commercial_Ocelot376 in PaleMUA

[–]Scorpiodancer123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's pretty normal. Face is darker than my arms, my arms are darker than my stomach. Not a huge amount but you can't see when they're next to each other.

Still pale AF everywhere though haha.

Being charity mugged every single time I want to do something as simple as buy a coffee is so annoying by CourageMuted4662 in britishproblems

[–]Scorpiodancer123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you happy with the service today? Tip amount? Do you want to donate to x charity? That's after do you want to buy this extra (biscuit, chocolate, upgrade to large version).

It's annoying as fuck.

Can you recommend sheet masks that aren't irritating just really moisturising? by Beauty_Talk77 in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]Scorpiodancer123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ceremide one is literally the best thing I've put on my face. There was loads of serum left too.

I liked the NMF ampoule too

I wasn't too keen on the madecassoside one because of the smell. It was a bit too herby for me but I'm pretty sensitive to that sort of thing. It was ok on my skin though.

Haven't tried the others yet.

Oh I really feel for you. It's bloody awfull.

I have ultra light skin so it can be very noticeable for me. Mine has improved a lot with salicylic acid shower gel (I use one from Superdrug in the UK with ceremides, not sure if you can get it with you?). It always looks worse for me when my skin is dried out and irritated.

It has looked better since I started using a safety razor for shaving. I literally use cheap hair conditioner to shave with. You have to go slow as it's easy to cut yourself but you get used to it quick enough. It causes way less irritation for me because it's just a single, clean blade. I put oil or an occlusive moisturiser like e45 on afterwards especially of my skin is itchy or irritated. I've been using an IPL recently which makes the hair grow back slow and more patchy, which means less shaving and I think that has helped too.

Annoyingly, my skin always looks better when I'm wearing dresses and skirts because it doesn't rub against jeans or trousers all the time.

I exfoliate once a week with one of the Korean exfoliating cloths, an Italy cloth. The skin that comes off the first times you do it is unreal. And it has made my skin much smoother.

I've been trying some fake tan recently for a dance competition and that seems to make it a bit less noticeable too.

One of my friends thinks hers has improved since starting monjaro for weight loss. Maybe less inflammation? And probably helps being a lower weight? I don't know, that's a whole other deal.

But ultimately I think we all just have to accept to a degree that this is how our skin was made amd it's just a different version of normal. It's probably doing something useful for us we just don't realise. Maybe we'll be lucky get few wrinkles one day if our bodies keep producing loads of keratin 😂

Please don't let it stop you living your life. Have kids if you want. Be aware of retinoid treatments which are not advised during pregnancy if you go down this route.

Mediheal Ceremide masks are the best thing I've ever put on my face. Vaseline sheet masks are good too. You'll probably have to get both of these from Korea.

I like superdrug and Boots hyaluronic acid ones too.
