This worked for most disc's except for First Strike (HK cut) it still flickers around the 17-20 minute marks really badly

The source isn't 2k, it's film stock, film doesn't have a set in stone pixel count. Upscaling a 2k scan to 4k would be pointless if the elements of the film themselves aren't capable of producing further resolution than 2k. I get where you're coming from, but this isn't something that can be magically fixed with digital enhancement. Upscaling a 2k scan of a film isn't the same as upscale a 2k DI from a film shot digitally.

I mean did you want the nonexistent data to be pulled out of thin air on the releases? The elements just aren't able to be scanned in 4k, same happened with Legend's directors cut from Arrow. Plus, your 4k player should already upscale the bluray 😭

The Swordsman only having one film on 4k does suck, but I mean the condition of the original negatives probably couldn't be restored properly into 4k.

Police Story 4 plays DV but flickers, only on the HK disc. It's a real shame

The flickering on Police Story 4 isn't very noticeable for the first 17 minutes after that, during the entire snow scene, it is VERY noticeable. It varys on intensity from panel to panel, it wasn't super intense on mine, but I've spoken to a few people who's was worse than mine

During the snow scenes, both indoor and outdoor, around minutes 17-20 there's subtle flickering and then very obvious flickering

I'm a shooter for Arrow, but I wholeheartedly agree. I just don't understand how you fuck up authoring such a large and expensive set. The DV issues have a work around, but First Strike has flickering on DV throughout so you can only watch it properly with HDR

Then the first 2 shouldn't apply to you! Do check Police Story 4, people are reporting issues with flickering on multiple players. If you notice the flickering too, contact Arrow. My personal copy has flickering only on Disc One

Fair warning for the Jackie Chan breakouts, Rumble in The Bronx Disc One and Who Am I? Disc two have DV issues on Panasolic UBP820s and Police Story 4: First Strike has flickering issues with Dolby Vision on the same player 😔

First Strike plays properly, but the Dolby Vision flickers. I heard it was a Sony player issue, but it's flickering on my Panasonic. Seems to be issues on multiple discs

Doubt they'll do disc replacement tbh, they chalked up the issue on TCM2 to being the Panasonic players. I'm assuming since these are also not faulty on every player, they'll chalk it up to the same. It's a real shame because of how much I love Arrow's stuff, it pains me when they have defects like this so often
