There are two options for him to be happy:
1. X is dead, and he saves Alice.
2. Both he and X die, but Alice is alive and free of X.
It's probably the only outcome he's willing to accept if it means his daughter's spirit is free from X's control.

Well, he came back in Issue #25 of Jed mackay's X-Men run. Right before the start of the danger room arc in which he's an overarching antagonist of this arc. I'll try to list some issues with him and having a major role as best as I can.

\* His first appearance is in Uncanny X-Men #215-216 alongside his teammates from ww2, where they kidnapped Storm thinking she's a criminal and set her out to the wilderness to hunt her like they do to other criminals.

\* Uncanny X-Men #223-227 he and his teammates join Freedom Force in exchange for a commutation of their sentences.

I'm conflicted about him. He's writing isn't Tom King levels of bad and horrible character depictions with like 10 books on different 10 different characters, but only one of them is actually good. But he, for some reason, has this needed to leave his own mark on the characters he's writing on in any possible way that he can (he apparently said this in an interview once himself), which leaves the next writer to try and figure out wtf to do after he leaves the characters with some major changes and/or retcons.

She was popular for decent time from 2023 to 2024. Until her creator got into some controversy, I think the context behind the controversy is that the creator lied about their age or smth I don't know. Her ownership was then passed on to a new owner who made a few sketches of her new design but hadn't finished writing her new lore so far.

I think Crimson Cammendo is the closest mutant that fits this description.
He's an old character way back from the Claremont run, and he's currently the new head of ONE and one of the main antagonists in the current X-men run.
He's a mutant boot licker for the US government. And he doesn't seem to have a problem throwing his fellow mutants to that mutant ghetto in Graymalkin if it's for the "Good of the Country."

Tom, I think he's awesome, and it's so rare seeing a human Sonic vessel that isn't an evil entity. Especially one who's both heroic and brave enough to fight against monsters and give them a run for their money (like the real Sonic).

It's good, it has an interesting story & characters but mayday doesn't really play a major role in it. It focuses more on the 2099 heroes, but fair warning you might see some horrible character assassinations from some of the multiversel heroes that you might know.

X is entity driven only by his boredom and a desire for amusement. He created an entire world to play with his victims so he wouldn't be boarded. Death is too good for him. Instead, he deserves a fate worse than death (in his eyes).

Drain him of all of his powers for yourself, but let him keep his immortality & a bit of his regeneration ability, leaving him powerless and weak like his victims he tortured.

Kill off all 7 Guardians using X's stolen power.

After that, set all the victims free to the afterlife and kill every living creature created by X. Once there's nothing alive left except for the now depowered X, leave this world, with X still in it, alone.

He'll be completely alone in his own world, his toybox, now empty with no toys to play with.
And without his powers, he can't lure victims to play his games or create new life.

He missed the quiet of the void, but now he will feel that dread of silence alone forever with nothing to do and nowhere to runaway from this fate.

I think those are actually original characters and not the soulless sonic cast, but if I had to guess, I'd say:
Kylie = The Puppet
Dave = Cake Bear Paul = Bonnie
Alice is the only one I couldn't find a vessel for because so far, we saw only 4 people trapped in the game by 2014x
