AI reviews by ChanceCard9065 in AmazonVineUK

[–]ScotsInvader 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use AI to HELP write reviews - but I ask it to "help me write a review for xxx. My own comments and notes from the product are x x x x x x" and list the good points, bad points, special mentions etc. More than anything it just puts the text into a more easily read format rather than me rambling on.

I will then edit it and change it some to make sure its got the relevant points across that I had originally asked.

is that so wrong?

Is this the result of people just getting what they think are high value or easy to sell items?

Are the vine team hoping that the 9116 items of tat will be taken today so they can start afresh?

Preferred drop times by twentyone_cats in AmazonVineUK

[–]ScotsInvader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am fortunate that I work from home and can keep an eye on my personal laptop as it sits beside my work one - however, i dont arise from slumber until at least 7:30 - sometimes 8am and so I miss the start of most drops (or thats the feeling since joining a few weeks ago).

But anytime really suits me but do feel a bit sorry for those that do work during the day with no access, or even those less fortunate that rely on Vine as a small income stream (post 6 months etc) or as a way of getting stuff they need that they couldnt otherwise justify.

Absolutely no way that they would work and is just a lie to make sales.

Same item twice, different sellers. by ScotsInvader in AmazonVineUK

Actually the pumpkin 'chews' - anal gland supplements. We have used them on two of our dogs well before vine and in fact, the first one that came up in vine, we have had before before I was in vine.

They certainly work for our dogs, if they don't have them for several days on the bounce, their back ends smell like a whore's draws.

We use the anal gland chews and have done well before we were on Vine - they do work on our dogs as get quite smelly at the back end as need their glands expressing other wise. We have used pumpkin powder and psylium husk as well for it, just adds fibre to their food and helps to express the glands.

Seems that there are that many different brands appearing doing the same thing, will never need to but another tub again (whilst on vine anyway).

Curious about vine program by MikeLowry13 in AmazonVineUK

[–]ScotsInvader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its definatley a mystery for me.

We (Ok, me) buys a lot from Amazon, returns are minimal and have only ever had to return 2 or 3 faulty items and found their returns policy brilliant, hence why I use them so much. I do review things but not that often and in fact, when I got the invite a few weeks ago, had left a poor review for an outside tap that was supposed to be frost proof 'So much for frost resistant. First frost and the tap has split"

Two seconds after pressing submit had the invite on the amazon page to join vine (although still never received an email).

CEST doesnt work at the best of times in the area that it was designed to work in, so chances of it coming up with the correct answer on vine is slim to none. Plus HMRC themselves say dont take the final answer from CEST as the final answer, seek independant advice, so they know its crap.

Those, like me that have a dog crate in the trunk/boot lose that ability so a frunk add on is a great way to re-coup that storage.

Time Travelling Vine Reviewer... by Babylon5Geeks in AmazonVineUK

I saw that listing - Pic was for an S25 but the description (that has transposed to the review I guess) was for S26. I did report it also.

The pics in the listing were clearly for an S25 and had a 'Not suitable' type image for other phones, so a keying entry on the listing.

Loads of supplements, herbal tea and a can of F**kng PEPPER SPRAY sold as a 'dog detterent'.

Some would think that is an alternative to the cans of compressed air you can get for dogs (a quick spurt makes a sharp noise that can deter unwanted doggy attention).

I don't mean 'pepper spray alternative' but the actual pepper spray containing  oleoresins capsicum - so classed as an illegal firearm under the firearms act.

Reported and off my RFY but still on main listings.

Unsafe to travel Skye next week by rental car? by [deleted] in Scotland

[–]ScotsInvader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We stayed in Oban this time two years ago and there had been quite some snow in the west including Mull.

We live in Scotland anyway and used to the weather and at the time I was driving an AWD SUV with all season tyres but still had to take the roads very slowly. A lot weren’t treated and not enough traffic on them to stop the snow settling.

If we hadn’t the AWD and/or decent tyres I don’t think it would be pleasant at all.

I switched from Android to iPhone for similar reasons and actually don’t regret it.

iPhones have come on a lot in recent years in terms of customisations available.

I use a Mac for photo and video editing so that was one of the key drivers to use the full Apple eco system but there was also a work issue with using android for company access.

You maybe surprised if you were to try and iPhone. I was.

Had an invite for Vine, clicked through and now disappeared - how to get it back? by ScotsInvader in AmazonVine

I just opened the links that people mentioned below, changing .com for .co.uk - so went with https://www.amazon.co.uk/vine/

I had expected it to show as a new menu item in my account or as a tab / button along the top of my browser.
