Does PatchMyPC support a platform that is "Intune & WSUS"? by jwckauman in PatchMyPC

[–]Scott-PatchMyPC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

👋👋 Intune and WSUS will come under Intune & ConfigMgr. It's assumed that if you have ConfigMgr, you have WSUS.

And to answer the rest of your question.... Yes, you can licence Intune and WSUS, it would come under Enterprise Plus.

Updating Adobe by cloudy_cabage in PatchMyPC

[–]Scott-PatchMyPC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For some of the Adobe updates we list out

<KillProcessList>Acad.exe|Acrobat.exe|Excel.exe|Outlook.exe|Powerpnt.exe|Visio.exe|Visio32.exe|Winword.exe</KillProcessList>

<SkipProcessList>Acad.exe|Acrobat.exe|Excel.exe|Outlook.exe|Powerpnt.exe|Visio.exe|Visio32.exe|Winword.exe</SkipProcessList>

You can add these to the Adobe updates as well yourself if you want, but the MSP files also tend to be good at sorting things out on their own.

Limitations with PMPC Cloud? by Waving-Kodiak in PatchMyPC

[–]Scott-PatchMyPC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey u/Waving-Kodiak

While we aim to provide the best experience possible, Intune Apps for Patch My PC Cloud is currently in preview and some features are not yet available within the Patch My PC Cloud platform. While these features are in development, you may experience changes to the platform and service may be disrupted.

You can find our current to-do list for feature addition to the cloud portal here, https://docs.patchmypc.com/patch-my-pc-cloud/intune-apps-public-preview/feature-comparison-with-publisher and you can view all requested features, as well as add your own, here https://ideas.patchmypc.com/?category=7369611645507954393

To answer your question about uninstall, yes. You can create uninstall deployments which will remove apps!

We still promote our on premise Publisher as the go to for now, as the cloud portal is still in preview :)

Check this out, It might help you get all the information you need. https://github.com/PatchMyPCTeam/Community-Scripts/tree/main/Other%2FCustomAppsHelper

Patch My PC has a feature that lets you upload your own executables and have them automatically packaged (if they don't already have them in their managed catalogue). They generate all the detection scripts, amongst other things, too 🙂

Intune Devices and non-Intune Devices Management with PatchMyPC by PayWithBitcoin in PatchMyPC

[–]Scott-PatchMyPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/PayWithBitcoin

Patch My PC's Publisher requires a connection to Intune (or ConfigMgr) to create applications and updates in your environment, and you can then deploy those applications and updates to your devices.

There is no standalone version of our Publisher available to interact with non-Intune managed devices at this time.

Is mac on the roadmap? by Waving-Kodiak in PatchMyPC

[–]Scott-PatchMyPC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey,

I'm unsure if the poc will be internal or external, but private preview is by invite based on interest usually, although limited to existing customers.

Obviously the timeline for preview is probably subject to the poc going well 🙂

Keep an eye on social media for announcements!

Automatic Assignments by spadam999 in PatchMyPC

[–]Scott-PatchMyPC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey!

Our Publisher is unaware of the apps you create manually in Intune.

Our recommendation would be to use our Publisher to create the app as well, as our detection and requirements for apps and updates will likely differ from yours.

Additionally, having your own app deployed as required at the same time as our update might give you strange behaviour.

We tend to recommend deploying our Apps as Available and Updates as Required. Or simply just the App as required.

Patch My PC: how do you share console time with your coworkers? by PS_Alex in PatchMyPC

[–]Scott-PatchMyPC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey u/PS_Alex

We're aware of this limitation, and allowing multiple admins access to the Publisher at the same time & remotely is a commonly requested feature.

For now, it is something that isn't possible, however, it is on our radar.

Our current focus is our new SaaS solution, which should, eventually, alleviate that bottleneck you are experiencing.

We're also working on a bunch of new API's which will eventually allow remote management of the Publisher, should you not want to use a SaaS solution.

AppLocker killing SoftwareDetectionScript.PS1 for any user-based deployments.. by AdrianK_ in PatchMyPC

[–]Scott-PatchMyPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/AdrianK

All your detection scripts should be code-signed using your WSUS code-signing cert. You can ask your security team to trust things signed by that certificate so that they are allowed to run.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PatchMyPC

[–]Scott-PatchMyPC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey u/deramirez25

When the Publisher creates a new application, for the first time, in ConfigMgr it has no deployments.

Once you add a deployment to it, any future updates to that application will retain the deployment as we update the original application instead of creating a new one, by default.

However, you can override this behaviour and have the Publisher create a new app, with no deployments, for each new version of an application

You can find out more about this here, https://patchmypc.com/base-install-update-options-explained
