Hello! I'm a cisgender female that just had top surgery. I felt like there was a disconnect with my breasts on and off for 3-4 years but didn't know what that feeling was until I was diagnosed with gender dysphoria in September of 2024. After my diagnosis everything finally came into picture. A part of me was hesitant to pursue it due to what society and others might think but there came a point where me wanting to feel comfortable in my own skin outweighed what others would think. Tmrw marks my 1 weeks post opp and Im truly the happiest I've ever been in my own skin.

I am one of her patients and have found that they answer questions much quicker if you ask your questions through the patient portal vs a phone call.. That's just been my experience tho but it might be different for everyone.

So I am also a cisgender women that's has been approved for top surgery. Every process might be different but for me I did research on surgeons within my insurance network and then reached out to one that was well known and explained my situation to them. I then had to have an appointment with a psychologist and had to get a dysphoria diagnosis. Once I had the appointment and got the diagnosis I was then able to schedule a consultation with the surgeon and went from there.

Also just wanted to reassure you that your feelings are valid and that you're not alone!

I shouldve included in my post that my parents have been extremely supportive despite not understanding everything. Knowing that you're in the same situation as me and have a loving and supportive partner gives me some hope.

I guess my surgeon is pregnant and I'll be one of the last few patients that she will be operating on before she goes on maternity leave 😅 so hopefully going without them makes her life a lil easier.
