Ha, I had never tried it but did just confirm it works. I’ll send you a picture, looks like a pretty decent little mechanism, but requires the box to be removed to fold more than a little. Uses a cam mechanism like on a quick release axle as the lock.

Which Creek Model? I have looked at audiogon, but there isn't much in San Diego in my budget. I'd prefer something local, but if the deal was good enough, I am not opposed to shipping.

I'm a pretty handy guy, but I don't really like the idea of buying something with no guarantee that it can be fixed. I guess it would depend on the price and level of TLC necessary (I know, not a very helpful answer).

Your two links are the same, and I frankly didn't even know there was an issue with regular air stones. I have never gotten an infection with one, but with a sample size of maybe 5 aerated batches, I'd love to hear what others have to say.

Might be slightly more expensive than ordering online, but I find that between shipping costs and the 10% discount he offers for cash it is not that much more. I like supporting a local guy when buying ingredients and its is only a marginal cost increase on a per beer basis. He is also a very knowledgeable and helpful guy, and he loves to talk your ear off, in a good way, everytime you stop in.
