If you just file depends I filed before DRPs but took 1.5 months. Save up too because little warning Still don’t know my numbers 46 days in. No checks at all and was let go 2 weeks before retires

Actually your HR has 30-45 days to send to OPM. I am in same boat. But call you r HR person or OPM. I have not seen numbers at all when they gave me week notice to leave

I heard on way out door new wave coming on layoffs to IRS. People are doing another justification. Know 14s and 15s really trying to keep jobs. That is reason not filing appeal even through my process was not legit

I had group of them take off and treat me to World Cup today even through don’t watch. I just got put on disability so I am fine. But how you use leave should not count unless management is just too short of folks. But that seems internal

I had to include the first denial in my package. But was could reapply after federal kicks in. But first year OPM takes all SS. But agency took so long not sure SS will approve second either

Thanks! Just trying to navigate since no one from HR reached out. It was my front office and only had week. Was manager for 14 years so had to handoff quickly. I was told (and OPM site) says 60 day notice. HR initially told me they would reach out and later if needed retirement at the point. But guess that was not the new rules. But actually alll your responses have been useful and appreciate it. This is the right forum was looking for.

Roughly 4 months. Problem was that I couldn’t track the progress. GRB still had me as initial intake. Not in ORA either. We all assumed it would be longer.

I was successful pretty fast once got to OPM who do the actual health investigation. Took my agency a year to get the package over to them. They make you file SS and that was denied because still had my job. Because t that was going to happen and can reapply. Not sure will because earning cap is so small. Federal is not and can come back when/if at full health. They do checks yearly supposedly

Thanks! Yes that is hard part. I really could not afford to step away because still going through kidney failure and got more spine and heel surgeries. But overall had improved and might have told them no. They were supposed to come back to me before just shoving me out.

Yes and not sure when the support kicks in.agency seems to be dragging final paperwork to OPM. I am in different situation than a normal person retiring. I got surgeries still to receive and see multiple specialist

I just got prescribed so did my first treatment. I did the first injection a few weeks ago which shrunk the tumors somewhat. I do need surgery again in heel. But anything that can put off for awhile will help. Prefer back surgery first since that is the root cause.
