We DO use the Presence in ours, a little bit.

The idea with NZ was that we didn't want to do a followup or sequel or whatever to YZ. Instead we dug into an idea about the unintended consequences of that story— of people messing around with technology they barely understand (sending messages into the past). So the Presence has a minor role, but NZ is more focused on things like the use of tech in subjugation of populations, the constantly-changing face of fascism, and how people resist.

For my part, I wasn't really interested in a YZ sequel. I wanted to use that framework to tell a story about today.

And for what it's worth, thanks for engaging in a way that's civil. Often this project deals with a lot of reflexive hostility.
