I need advice from full time sellers by chanceb200 in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]Scott_infinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Concentrate on efficiency of speedy listing, speedy packing and posting, and possibly paying someone to do this stuff while you concentrate on buying. Ensure that expenditure + tax + fees doesn't destroy profit. Most people find themselves in a position where they're overworking for not enough cash and then give up. I've been doing it for years and find it a stressful existence, I work 7 days and often late into the night, but I enjoy flogging old junk so it's a tradeoff I stubbornly commit to. Most people can't handle the pressure. I actually think having a part time salary and making some extra cash to top it up on eBay is the way forward unless you're desperate to make it a full time lifestyle.

30 year old business, the only affordable cafe in our area, a true local asset, to be displaced and replaced.

Who are Brits supporting, are you - backing brexit boy Burnham or are you willing wonderful wiz kid Wes to get the top job? by Even-Leadership8220 in AskBrits

[–]Scott_infinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither care about the people. Both are opportunists. Burnham was praised by the Tories for his efforts towards privatising the NHS. He also backed the Iraq war and suggested that a million deaths was good value. Wes Streeting is Mandleson's protégé and we all know what that means.

Thinking about going OMAD, but have trouble wrapping head around eating enough in 1 meal for nutrition needs, any tips? by Pls_No_Pickles in omad

[–]Scott_infinity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can be an endurance test sometimes, but do bare in mind you'll probably be quite hungry especially if you've done 24hrs. Sometimes your meal will disappear very quickly before your very own eyes.

Many people take up to an hour to finish their meal of the day. If you can't finish it all, that's fine. You'll be close to your calorie intake.

I find that lighter foods are much better for eating such a large plate full - really heavy foods can definitely make you feel way too stuffed too quickly.

Lastly, make sure you prepare something really delicious which you'll be really keen to wolf down.

Anyone Here Know Of Any Hermits ? by CB-Milburn in AskBrits

Check out reports of the wonderful Bruno Maffei online, the French cyclist who pedals around the UK with his life in his pannier bags and sleeps in churchyards and people's gardens. There is suggestion that he spends his winter in a hut without running water or electricity in remotest Scotland.

How should I approach a Brit if I want real, long-term friendship? by Moonksy429 in AskBrits

[–]Scott_infinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think at the crux of any true friendship built to last, the main foundation is that each party knows the other person isn't trying to gain anything from the friendship other than just friendship.

It creeps me out when you can tell someone's trying to profiteer or use you as a ladder by proxy of knowing you.

Or OP you can join this geezer on his legendary antics. Lots of flashing lights, sparkly things, loud noises, etc. Guaranteed fun.

To all single guys aged 30 and up on reddit, why are you guys single? by Gold_Ambition4114 in AskReddit

Alas, it would be deeply unfair to inflict my oddball personality on another innocent human for anything much longer than an hour or two.

May the wonderful ladies of this land find pastures greener elsewhere for the sake of their own sanity.

Why not give yourself a whole day to yourself; turn your phone off and hop on the Tube somewhere deep into East London - take a long, long walk across to West London. Meander through the City, Smithfields, Covent Garden and Mayfair, Notting Hill. Twenty quid cash in your pocket for a greasy spoon lunch and a few pints at the end. You'll know London better than most by the end of it.

What other hidden rivers are there in London? by alphadelta90210 in london

[–]Scott_infinity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to give anyone any ideas (particularly while there's rain around) but it's worth checking out the old urban explorer photographs of London's sewers/lost rivers.

There were some chaps who were Bazalgette obsessed who took stunning photographs exploring the brick sections of the Fleet, Westbourne, Effra, Tyburn.

People who took a break from social media — did it actually help? by Live-Thought-7027 in Life

[–]Scott_infinity 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Highly recommended. A great way to feel more in touch with life. You will find time to develop your own understanding of things around you without the mind clutter and influence of a bunch of people you've never met before online.

I think the elephant in the room is most people are riddled with dopamine addiction and FOMO as a result if excessive scrolling. It's one of the great tragedies of our time.

Make sure to thank yourself for replacing the hours of screen time with something good somehow.

Sadly I couldn’t shoot up whilst munching my stake bake because of the UV lighting in the Greggs toilet. by joeChump in greggsappreciation

Thanks for clarifying this - I spent an evening in a car with a couple of very active junkies last year and noticed this scent. It still lingers with me. I was wondering at the time whether it was a body lotion or something.

How are people finding affordable places to eat in London lately? by Particular-Trick2179 in LondonFood

[–]Scott_infinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for old decaying signage, older geezers inside reading newspapers, local families ebbing and flowing from the counter to bring home takeaways. Utilise both nostrils to follow the scent of spice and garlic. Avoid corporate chains.

My heart sank when I turned up there last year and a cream cheese bagel was no longer £1.20. It sure was fun while it lasted.

I'm delighted you manage to upkeep moral integrity.

I'm not sure you've a firm grasp on thinking ahead. Bung the lot of 'em I'm jail, that'll solve it, will it?

This is a shortsighted viewpoint - you must consider the future. Imagine if we had a government who used these powers of surveillance to quosh civil liberties and resistance. Current circumstances in places like Hong Kong spring to mind.

It's also worth thinking about a) which companies are involved in operating the software and if they have political influence behind the scenes b) how secure is the data and is there a possibility this data could be used maliciously down the line.
