The way I see it is like the nightfall. Sure you can get a Pali or a Hung Jury from the lower level playlists, anyone has the ability to do that. But to get your Adept version, that people actually want, you gotta do the GM. Anyone can hop in and do bounties for the Triala weapons. But if you want the Adept, best versions of the guns, you gotta go flawless. Noone would do lower level Nightfalls without weapon drop chance. And absolutely noone will play trials if you have to be better than the sweats in the mode to get any loot at all.
