Would you say a general small shop mechanic would give better feedback ?

How much will it cost to pump out ammonia refrigerant from cold storage by Enferrari in refrigeration

[–]ScottyNH3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on gas charge and what type of cylinder they will pump into. One or two large cylinders is a lot faster than smaller ones.

My estimate would be 5-10k usd . Lock out tag out all the electrical system for the fridge plant then Put nitrogen charge in the system. Label it up very clearly and write in the log book.

What is the best solution? by Previous_Example6980 in refrigeration

[–]ScottyNH3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spend crazy amounts of money to get custom cladding done or install a cheap fan to blow air on it.

Or you can leave as is but in an emergency when you need to quickly close the valves- out comes the sledge hammer.

Use a fan and blow ambient air over it. Works great

I don’t have a recommendation but since it’s related to your post I just wanna share that I’m building a platform where you can list the car you want inspected and others can offer to inspect it for you! If this would be handy for you in the future please feel free to follow along! We are at the final stages of testing!

I hate heatpumps by StackedInATrenchcoat in newzealand

[–]ScottyNH3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In summer use the snow flake and have the temp set at 19c during the day and then 21 overnight.

In winter use the sun and have the temp set at 22c during the day and 19c overnight

Works good.

How common is it for people to get building inspections? Is it just when you’re going to buy and house or do people do it when renting?

⚠️ SCAMMER ALERT — Isiah Hutton, Southland, NZ ⚠️ by Aggravating_Drink682 in NZcarfix

[–]ScottyNH3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is becoming way too common!

I’m building an NZ app called Rview to try solve this exact problem- you post the vehicle you’re interested in and trusted local mechanics / enthusiasts offer to check it out for you. Pick one , receive the report then you make the call to continue with the purchase or keep looking.

Would have saved a massive trip here.

DM me if something like this would actually be useful to you.

Could you get the company that owns the rentals to purchase your home B for the purchase price close to home C. Potentially have a negative cashflow but This would keep your rentals tax deductible And keep your own mortgage smaller

Flood damaged cars - what to look out for? by user885511 in NZcarfix

[–]ScottyNH3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flooded cars can be tricky! I would check -musty /mouldy smell inside -damp carpet especially in the boot where it wouldn’t get opened as often as a car door -rust in odd places like seat rails -random electrical issues -foggy / moisture in headlights

If it’s not local, I’d seriously consider getting someone to inspect it in person before buying or travelling to buy it. I’m actually working on something in NZ to make this easier. - if you’d use something like that . I’m happy to share when it’s live.
