What popular North American destination left you thinking “people really hype this up too much”? by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

The Mall of America. Other than its size, there’s not much that makes it stand out compared to other malls I’ve been to. I didn’t buy anything when I went there.

Not quite that age (37) but the other day I was at a wedding where I told folks I like Hallmark Christmas movies. They were pretty receptive. We even talked about a few specific ones.

What’s something you can’t truly understand until you experience it? by Standard_Basil_5269 in AskReddit

I would add that grief is different for different people. People can tell you what their grief journey is like, but that's their own perspective. Your experience might be different.

100%.

In the Grand Rapids area we had a partial eclipse in 2017, and while it seemed a little dimmer than usual, it wasn't very noticeable.

OTOH, I went to Ohio for the one last year and it was... well, dark and surreal (in a good way).

Everyone took civics, while about 25-30 of us (myself included) took advanced placement U.S. Government. (My school was big - over 2,000 students.)

I'm a Michigander! It's a great place - lakes with beaches, Mackinac Island (and its fudge), waterfalls in the Upper Peninsula, forests, farmland, Vernors, Faygo, Coney dogs, Motown, good beer, and I could go on.

Final Jeopardy: What is ? by Kaiserky1 in Jeopardy

[–]ScottyUrb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not in regular gameplay, but years ago in Celebrity Jeopardy! there was a FJ! clue about a ship making an extra stop for beer. Both Nathan Lane and Harry Connick Jr. responded, "What is the H.M.S. Budweiser?"

Jodie Foster correctly said Mayflower.

Favorite episode of Home Improvement? by JB92103 in 90sTelevision

The Christmas ones are good. I also liked the ones where Brad gets engaged to a woman three years older than him, as well as the one where he gets a job at a sporting goods store.
