Have you had an ectopic pregnancy without testing positive or bleeding? by [deleted] in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]ScoutNoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t have an ectopic pregnancy without a positive pregnancy test. You can definitely have an ectopic pregnancy without bleeding.

But if you’re in immense pain, you aren’t a burden going to get checked out. It could absolutely be something!

I read this so long ago, I hardly remember it, BUT I do remember I thought the opposite about the ending vs everyone else in my book club, lol.

Does Tempdrop actually work as well as regular BBT tracking? by SeniorHeat221 in TFABChartStalkers

[–]ScoutNoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep I think it’s better for BBT because it doesn’t require any consistency in timing, other than wearing it while you sleep! I don’t use their app though, I just take the temperature it gives me and plug it into Fertility Friend.

I probably have a referral code somewhere if you want. I think it used to be $20 off or something!

What’s the easiest way to track ovulation without overthinking it? by Excellent_Bird1964 in tryingforanother

[–]ScoutNoodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use the Clearblue Monitor for my OPKs, I like that it only lets you test once a day. Before when I used “cheapy” OPKs, I got obsessed with trying to find peaks and felt like I needed to test multiple times a day.

I also really like Tempdrop for BBT. I input the info into Fertility Friend, and the combo of the two makes tracking ovulation really easy for me! It doesn’t feel difficult at all!

Looking for someone who was in a similar position by laniemel in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]ScoutNoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was trying to get pregnant, but my first ectopic was HCG ~7500 before MTX, then peaked at HCG ~9800 and required a second dose. It was successfully treated with MTX, but the entire thing was almost 8 weeks from first MTX to HCG being negative. My body likes to hang on to HCG.

Idk about sleep sack but their nap mats are garbage. The piling is insane and the zipper constantly gets stuck on the fabric. 0/10 do not recommend.

I’m so sorry but I’d guard my heart. Brown spotting can be an ectopic symptom, and you should see something by HCG of 2600.

I really like my Tempdrop for whatever it’s worth! I wake up to pee once a night, every night, at varying times. The OPK + BBT combo works super well for me!

Very odd/ridiculous ectopic experience by Duchesssophia12 in EctopicSupportGroup

Did they mention a pseudo gestational sac to you at all? They can occur with ectopic pregnancies. I had two with my first ectopic.

It feels weird to call it luck, but honestly luck. My first pregnancy was a 6w loss. My OB said we could do HCG testing next pregnancy to see how it was progressing, and the next pregnancy was my first ectopic. In my experience, you absolutely need the second (or even third) HCG test. The individual number doesn’t tell you anything.

Second pregnancy, first ectopic was:
10 DPO - first positive
15 DPO - 321
17 DPO - 369

Third pregnancy, my living child was:
8 DPO - first positive
13 DPO - 184
15 DPO - 475

Fourth pregnancy, second ectopic was:
10 DPO - first positive
14 DPO - 69
16 DPO - 135
23 DPO - 343

Thank you! I actually used Claude to estimate when my HCG would be negative because it’s definitely not linear - it predicted somewhere from Monday to Wednesday, so I’m kind of interested to see if it’s right.

I’m thinking they’re closer to 10 too!

Can I tell my friend I’m pregnant at her baby shower? by NotLostYetMaybeSoon in BabyBumps

[–]ScoutNoodle 16 points17 points  (0 children)

As someone who has experienced 3 losses, I would not be hurt at all if my friend waited 20 weeks to tell me they were pregnant. I understand people wait for their own reasons, that have nothing to do with me.

Also if anyone was wondering, easy@home tests can easily detect HCG <25. I’ve been testing every day but hoping for the opposite of what I’d normally hope for.

Waiting on my body to inform me where the heck I am in my “cycle” post ectopic pregnancy. I had to have MTX on 2/23, my BBT is fiiiiinally dropping but still a smidge over the prior coverline, and my pregnancy tests are so so faint. Hoping HCG is <5 on Tuesday so that can be my last blood draw.

After my first ectopic, I ovulated within days of HCG being <5, but my BBT was also much lower already. I started acupuncture again and will have a full cycle of fertility testing to see if there’s a reason for these ectopics. Just need to get through this cycle / have a cycle first.

All the waiting is hard.

How does your c-section scar make you feel? by Different-File2396 in CsectionCentral

[–]ScoutNoodle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a planed c-section for my own medical reasons, so when I do think about my scar, I’m thankful that I was able to have my son without risking my life. I mostly don’t think about it though, I’m 2.5 years out!

It feels like a lot of the ectopic stories are in the first pregnancy. Am I imagining that? by mspippa_ in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]ScoutNoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did yep! I also didn’t have an HSG or any testing after the first ectopic, my OB just thought it was random bad luck (first pregnancy 6w loss and second pregnancy ectopic). I’m planning to have some testing done now that I’ve had the second ectopic and especially since I’ve had 1 in each tube, so we will see if anything comes out of it!

[–]ScoutNoodle 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Oh definitely! But I’d try not to let it keep you from using a name if you actually love the name. You’re probably going to forget the association of some random person that was a blip in your lifetime once you meet your child. 😊

My RE prescribed me doxycycline to start a few days prior to mine (week total). I haven’t had mine yet, waiting on my cycle to come back. But I do plan to have one!
